Lumber, have a good time. That looks like a load of fun and good times with your daughter. Hopefully I can get my kids to do that some day.

I knew that if I saved this link,
I would be posting it someday.

Check out this one, I think it is a database of
boat building sites around the world.

It has thousands of links to information.

http://www.boat-links.com/linklists/boatlink-17.html

Schools, you may be able to find plans for the boat your
wife wants.

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

That looks like a great project, with your wood working skills it should come out sweet. What type of design is it, similar to a flats boat?

lumberslinger178 08-21-2007 08:59 PM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

willy its sorta like a chicken breasted barnegat bay garvey..... I believe the boat will weight approx 450 lbs.
Iam gonna start building the cradle for it tomorrow if it dont rain ;D ;D ;D

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

What no garage??

Bulid one at the same time!! just make sure that you make the door big enough to get the boat out after!! ;)

I have always wanted to build a boat but never got around to it.

Good Luck!

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

wow and we thought you were only building it from lumber not cutting down a tree and then ripping it to planks for the boat lol.

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

Great plan. I remember helping my Pop build a lil'16' runabout when I was about 10. Some very good memories. I still can smell the mahogany sawdust when I think of it. We use hand saws, old time brace and a yankee screwdriver.

You get started yet LS?

Thought these were interesting.

Never seen this style without the "optional gunnals".

macojoe 10-23-2007 09:30 AM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

Tey have them all over th place here!! Very low draft, small motor all you need and they are great in all the bays and rivers.

randlemanboater 10-23-2007 11:02 AM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

I bet that boat rides like a........well, like a flat bottom boat.

Blue_Runner 10-23-2007 11:07 AM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

Its wide. And cheap. And inexpensive to operate. Sounds like a good boat to me. :D

randlemanboater 10-23-2007 11:31 AM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

I'd take one, but I think I would spring for the gunnals. The tops of those sides wouldn't last long with my crew.

Blue_Runner 10-23-2007 02:30 PM

Re: decided to build a boat for karly

I agree on the gunnels...also would like the center console rather than a tiller steer.
