several years ago while at work in the detective bureau our Sgt. got a call from his parents in town saying they just got back home from their vacation and their house was broken into.
We all jumped in our cars and went over there. after looking around a while we found nothing disturbed and no forced entry. His mother was in the kitchen crying and his father was consoling her.
We asked tehm how did they know someone broke in we could not find any signs.
They took us to their answering machine and played the message on the tape that othere hear when they call. He had over twenty messages from friends and family on it.
The message said " Hello you have reached the Mahoney's we can't get to the phone right now because I am upstairs banging the old lady in the a$$, you all know how she likes to get hammered from behind, so leave a message and when I get done banging the b!atch in the a$$ I will call you back, take care and comb your hair"
Needless to say they broke down crying again realizing all the people that had gotten that message over the past week and the three of us were about to explode in laughter so we got outside as quick as we could and were in tears in the driveway we were laughing so hard.
They had never changed the answering machine call in code from the factory setting so someone else had called and left their own message on the machine.
I have tears in my eyes while telling you guys this like it just happened yesterday.
To this day there is a certain few of us from the PD that when we say goodbye we let each other know "take care and comb your hair".

Your right Randal I might have to put that in the book, so now when I say to you guys take care and comb your hair you will know where it comes from, you privelidged few ;)
