Wondering same thing, really miss MJ stirring the pot. I m trying to post some fish pics, but the Imgur site has been down a couple of weeks.

Had a 10 amp breaker go bad on my nav light/anchor circuit. Turned out the original wire from dash to stern light was black and crumbly. Had to replace that and breaker. Was goin to post pics, but no Imgur.

Guess not much goes on when u got old guys with old boats

I'm working on mine, but I'm on disability retirement, very limited fixed income and so the work is slow going.

Looks like I might miss scalloping season.

Dave, where are u located, u talking bay scallops? I m about 39 miles west of port st joe and their getting slimmer and slimmer each year.

Tunnaman88 05-20-2023 07:39 PM

I haven't really been following on the site for awhile , but I am curious what ever happened to MJ? I assume his health gave in ? Last time I was following , someone had given him a v20 and he was too happy , but due to his failing health he couldn't do anything with it.

if he has passed... Rest Peacefully MJ

Crystal River

phatdaddy 05-21-2023 08:39 AM

Dave you r definitely in prime scallop territory, when i was growing up here, they were thick in our bay. They gradually faded away. Haven t seen the spat count for Port st joe this year, but it s been getting lower and lower each year.

Too many people in Florida

Tunnaman, i think MJ passed on couple years back.

Yes, just a little bit North of Homosassa.

steplift20 05-22-2023 08:54 AM

Dave ,my best friend moved to hommossasa fl about 7 years ago. He is retired and does fences , if you need a fence put up let me know. He is a great guy you will like him and does great work too . You might even know him if you know Znyone who lives in hommossasa they probably know him .he was on the news once teaching kids how to put up a fence
. He always gets other people to do his work lol

dave8311 05-22-2023 10:08 PM

Ok. I'll keep that in mind.

I don't know anyone in Homosassa. I spent most of my life in the Tampa area and about 5 years ago I had some medical issues, retired and moved up here to the Crytal River area.

We don't get out much.

steplift20 05-23-2023 06:39 PM

Tampa, that is near bradonton right? I have relatives in bradonton and Tampa. Love the beaches there long boat key siaster key ( I know I miss spelled that ) just take care of yourself and if you need a fence put up I got the guy to do it. I have a bunch of relatives that are down by Tampa. Everyone is going to Florida .

I have a grand daughter in Hollywood Florida. We plan on going down there when i retire.
I uncovered my V20 last week, took everything out and gave it a good washing. Buffed the hull, scrubbed the cushions , life jackets and went through all my fishing stuff and spare parts. Took two days but it turned out looking great for a 46 year old boat. Still haven't dunked it yet, but its ready.

dmoore 05-25-2023 07:58 PM

Nice, Now where are the pics?????

cfelton 05-25-2023 09:42 PM

Sorry, no pics. covered it back up until I can take it out. Working 12hr nights this week.

Sounds great. Your post made me realize than the Pipe Dream is 40 years old this year.

cfelton 05-31-2023 08:55 AM

These old V20s really hold up well with little work. I think the sun is the worst thing for the gelcoat. I keep mine covered up when not in use. I used 3M fiberglass restorer and wax on mine and it works well, comes out shining like new.
