FAVORITE FISHING LINE?

what is yall's favorite fishing line. for bass fishing i like stren in 17# test. it works well for specs to but i was thinking of using some kind of braid due to a higher test # and smaller diameter. mainly curious about salt water fishing. also i lost all of my deep sea poles due to katrina and i am about to buy some new ones so input on that type of line would be appriciated as well! ya know for sharks, jacks and bigger fish of that sort.

thanks in advance for your input

Inshore I like power-pro from 15 - 40 pending what I'm using it for. I'd say I mostly use 20# moss green powerpro. For my offshore stuff, we switched to moimoi about 4 years ago and I still love it.

Berkley trilene all the way...I have powerpro on some stuff as well.

I like berkley or Ande for offshore and I'm working on spooling some offshore gear with Spectra...its just alot of $$ so thats a slow progression.

Re: FAVORITE FISHING LINE?

I use both Braid and Mono depending what I am using.

Spinning I tried braid but not happy with it. If I bought some nice new reels for braid I might feel different, But I am a poor man in a rich mans sport!!

So Berkly Trilene 17 # Green or Clear for spinning.

As for Conventional everything I own has Spiderwire Stealth 65 # which is the same as 15# mono

I use for Fluke to Bass and everything in between!

All have a Floro leader, unless I am Night fishing then I use Berkly green for leaders.

I have changed over most of my conventional/bait casters to PowerPro, any were from 20# to 50# depending on the use. I love the sensitivity of braid when bottom fishing for Fluke to Black fish and the strength when fishing for stripers, sort of a false confidence. If I am fishing a reck or around allot or rocks I have been using Youzori hybrid lines. They are all right, but sort of stiff. I think I am going to change up my mono selction this year, maybe the Andes pink.

Power pro or Trilene. When I spooled my first rod with braid I could not beleive the difference it made it feeling whats going on at the other end.

Re: FAVORITE FISHING LINE?

for most of my surf casting it's 30lb. fireline, recently switched from power-pro. I liked the PP in moss green but I found with age [2 seasons] it got to "limp" and I was rewarded with more than the occasional wind knot and I experienced more than a few break offs. I figured I'd try something similar ie. fireline 30lb. It takes a little longer to break in but I'm finding it far more cooperative as of yet. Always use a fluorocarbon leader. Fluke, bass, and blues off the boat for the most part is the fireline. The only other light tackle line I have is on my flounder stick and it's Trilene XL 10 or 12lb.
