This one's been F/S for a while
Maybe he's willing to cut a sweet deal. In Joisy I believe.

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
You're right, I saw that thing on ebay a LONG time ago and it was a combo deal w/that old suburban then too.

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Been on the blocks for a year anyways. ???

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Thread recently about beefin' up old station wagon for tow-motor only...I'd be more inclined to find an old Suburban like that for that purpose...you'd start off WAY ahead of the game and not spend any more $$$...
If he'd take a little off that boat, it'd move... ;)... |
Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Take a little off. Why would I do that? The one on e-bay is a piece of crap. I've been using this one. I'm just surprised no one's jumped on it.

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
What's your idea of a little off? I'm thinking the boat motor and trailer honestly can't be worth less than $3500. That's really not a lot for a fully functional boat that really only needs cosmetics if you were into that sort of thing.

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Drews...did not mean to ruffle your feathers...I don't think that's what the board is intended to do...I don't disagree that your boat is worth the asking price, but SOMETHING has kept it from moving... :)...

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
For some reference, if you check out the NADA site (nada.com), a 75 v20 with an 85 boat and trailer has an average retail selling price of $2460 ($1500 hull, $540 motor, $420 trailer). Also, law in NJ (and many other states) is have to have seperate breaks for trailer if trailering over 3000 lbs, not sure if your trailer has them. The v20s with motor, trailer with fuel and equipment are over 3000 lbs.

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Is it any wonder why this has not sold yet? ;D
Drew do you have any better pics of it? |

The real price of this boat is, $3,800, because I have it and it's for sale at that price, I don't have to sell it, and I've had several interested parties in the past month. It'll eventually go at that price. I'm sure you can just stroll down to the NADA spare boat outllet and have them forklift a V20 off the shelf along with the engine and trailer and have them throw a bow on it for you and then just cut them a check for $2,450. I spent a month just looking for the motor, and it was considerably more than I wanted to pay. But, hey, I needed and engine at the time. So much for the NADA discount spare boat outlet theory. |

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Well alrighty then. Good luck, v20s are great boats, even when they are 30 years old. Didn't know that the Nada site was biased, that's good to know. When I sold my last boat I was frequently confronted with potential buyers throwing the NADA number at me, wish I knew they were for dealers back then. I wasn't tryin to knock your price, just give you some insight into why it might not be selling - haven't you been trying to sell it for like 2 years?

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Drew why do you have so much anger?? >:( I have seen you on other websites asking why your boat wont sell and talking down to guys that are buying newer boats or guys offering less for yours. Maybe your boat isn't worth what your asking. NADA is a good guide but your boat may be bellow quality. Whatever it is you should just list it and hope for the best not talk down to people.

Huh?
Maybe because I'm minding my business, posting an ad, then someone comes up with a wise-*** comment or they give me a coudo's, which leads back to the wise-*** comment. I don't see any attitude in my first post, it's just an ad. Quote:

Re: This one's been F/S for a while
Bought mine on ebay (1986 w/ 150 merc and trailer in very good condition). *Came with a VHF, fish finder and all Coast Guard equipment. *Paid $3k, owner took a personal check and delivered it to my house. *This is my second V20 so I knew what to look for. *This was a turnkey purchase and the seller and I use the same mechanic. *I don't know where you're located, but in Florida you can do a little shopping and come up with a very good deal. *I've got another boat that books out with BUC and NADA at over $29K. *The first $18k takes it. *I've seen this same boat listed in the Northeast for $32K. *Go figure. *Good luck with your sale. *
