I think this is where I’m gonna land. It’s already been pulled and winterized. I’m gonna see if he has video of it running. He’s down to $4K. I think based on the fact that I can’t run it, I’m gonna try to get him down to $3,500.
What say you guys?

I had a chance to get one of those cheap a couple years ago(project boat). i had way too much going on and passed one it. Looks like a good hull

phatdaddy 11-16-2021 07:36 PM

I had 21 center console version of that hull, before i got my V. The best riding and driest CC i have ever been in. Rides great in our short windriven gulf chop. Only drawback, very tippy when at rest

Hope it works out for U

Pipe_Dream 11-17-2021 08:02 AM

It that boat really 24'? It really doesn't look any longer than a V-20.

charlie_the_tuna 11-18-2021 08:54 AM

Looks like a nice ride. My buddy had an old robalo with the identical hull. Rode like a dream. Going on Saturday. Will most likely pull the trigger.
Only issue I can see, the trailer is torsion bar suspension. He says the torsion bar is shot and the trailer is riding on the axles. It’s a good 60 mile trip. It’s gonna be long and slow.

phatdaddy 11-18-2021 04:46 PM

Well, if it does need axles, good news is they are easy to change,
bad news is they are about $500 bucks apiece.

Hard to believe they are worn out.

Charlie, GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Yea, I see torsion worn out all the time(buddy runs a trailer shop), not a hard job, measure for the replacements at least three times before ordering. You need to double check that price, galvanized just went thru the roof. Lets Go Brandon:booty:

charlie_the_tuna 11-22-2021 04:14 PM

No, doesn’t look like a big job, but I know it’s pretty pricey. How bad would it be dragging it home 60 plus miles?

spareparts 11-22-2021 06:44 PM

bring some wooded blocks and ratchet straps to block up the spindles if need be

charlie_the_tuna 11-26-2021 07:53 PM

Well, I spoke to the guy and I’m 75% sure he’ll drag it to my driveway. It’s a pretty good trip, so I’m gonna give him the $4K he asked for. It had a small soft spot on the tank hatch he reinforced with what looks like a stainless plate. It doesn’t concern me and the fact that it’s on the tank hatch will make it easier to repair, when I have the time and a few extra bucks. Looks like it’ll be here with me in the next couple weeks. I know it’s a pain in the a$$ to post pictures, but I’ll give it a go.
I’ll keep you posted.

Congrats on the new family addition Charlie!!!

charlie_the_tuna 12-21-2021 09:08 PM

We’re not there yet. I think he’s hoping he’ll get somebody to swoop in and drag it away. I’m not sure that’s gonna happen. If he calls me in another month or two, I’m gonna beat him down another grand. Right now, he’s just kind of jerking me around.

charlie_the_tuna 12-28-2021 06:27 PM

Well, my focus has shifted to a mako 17 with an old evinrude 110. Says it runs great and has great compression. Roadworthy trailer and a good $$ number.

What say you gents?

charlie_the_tuna 12-28-2021 06:29 PM

Not 100%, but I might be able to drag this thing behind my FWD RAV4.

Looks good. Did you pull the trigger?

charlie_the_tuna 01-06-2022 09:58 AM

And the saga continues…. Guys posting boats for sale and not answering when I message them. I have a handful of cash and I want to be on the water asap and these guys just don’t get back to you. Makes me wonder if they really want to sell.

charlie_the_tuna 01-10-2022 10:32 AM

Well, change on the change on the change. I’m now looking at a V in Jersey. Trying to get a deal made but it’s a bit rocky. Nice boat. I’ll keep you guys informed.
