Interesting. 1.2 Trillion infrastructure bill passed, but only $550 billion goes to Infrastructure. So what does the other $650 billion go for? just asking for a friend.....

To those that wonder how big a trillion dollars is, lets convert dollars into seconds.

A Million seconds ago was 2 weeks ago.

A Billion seconds ago was 32 Years ago and President George H W Bush defeated Mike Dukakis to become President.

A Trillion seconds ago was 32,000 YEARS ago and Cro-Magnon man walked the earth. Humans, (as we know then today) did not exist.

Yep, I re-read the link YOU provided, and it says, in almost the first sentence, Quote: "It will deliver $550 billion of new federal investments in America's infrastructure over five years, touching everything from bridges and roads to the nation's broadband, water and energy systems". Unquote.

So my question remains, exactly where is the remaining $650 Billion dollars going? When I sat down with my calculator and added up each of the items mentioned in the article I came up with less than the $550 Billion claimed for Infrastructure improvements.

So rather than crawling back to you might I suggest that you actually read what you posted, and start asking the same questions that I and others are asking. WHERE is the remaining $650 Billion dollars going?

I'll go on record right here as saying that as long as the money is being spent on actual infrastructure projects I'm all for it. While I don't like spending the money, I do recognize that some bridges and roadways do need repair, as well as new roads in certain areas. I am NOT for tearing up certain highways simply because some groups of people think they are racist. Nor am I for a number of other things in the bill like "climate change" BS. So again I'll ask, where is a large part of the money actually being spent? :head:

I said I had no problems with money that was being spent on actual infrastructure projects, but I have a lot of problems with money being wasted on pet Democrat projects that will yield NOTHING, just like Solindra did under Obama.

Maybe you're too young to remember "the good old days" but I think (and this is only my opinion) that President Trump's MAGA slogan harkens back to a time when people were not being deliberately divided by race, color and creed. A time when kids could go outside and play without supervision. A time when you didn't lock your doors at night. A time when criminals were actually punished, either by terms in jail or, in extreme cases, by death. A time when we could laugh at movies like Blazing Saddles, or enjoy "All in the Family" or "The Jefferson's, or even Sanford & Son on TV. None of those shows could even be made today because people are so uptight that "someone" would be offended, and God knows, we can't offend anyone. A kinder, gentler time. It's estimated that only 9% of the infrastructure bill will actually benefit the American public. So NO, Infrastructure bill is NOT GOOD as written. WHY didn't you post ALL of that Paragraph Greene? Or didn't you want to acknowledge that it said exactly what I posted. Infrastructure only counts for about 7% of the bill's spending.

Here's the actual complete paragraph, not just the part you cherrypicked:

The article says the the definition of infrastructure can be reasonably expanded to include other things. By who? According to this plan of the Democrat's, things that were never considered as Infrastructure are now magically included. Privately owned companies like electric companies are now going to be expanded by the Federal Government!!! Same with the internet!!! And water and wastewater systems!!! Since we're the ones that are going to pay for the improvements to these privately owned companies do you think that we, the people, will get ANY reduction in our bills? Don't hold your breath. So is the Federal Government nationalizing these privately held companies? Isn't that what dictators do?

The Democrats, in a GIANT leap of BS, have included other items in the bill and called them Infrastructure also, but even then that only accounts for 24% of the money to be spent on "infrastructure. So where is the other 76% of our money being spent? Certainly not on infrastructure The Democrats COUNT ON easily deceived people to push their wasteful spending ideas. They and their cronies will get rich on our money. And you support this Malarkey?
