President Biden on Afghanistan
President addressed our nation this afternoon and made it clear:
1. We’re not going to keep our troops in harms way there in this never ending 20 year struggle. 2. We spent billions to equip the Afghan military and they wasted it and rolled over to the Taliban. 3. He’s keeping his promise to take us out of there as it no longer is in our strategic interests . Slow or quick withdrawal —- the Taliban was taking over . I for one agree . |

I was going to say that "You, for one, are insignificant and irrelevant. ", but that would just be mean. But I will say that your squirming to try and find something, anything, that you can spin to try and make this disaster of a president look good is pitiful. |
China and Russia would love to see us continue spending billions every year trying to maintain Afghanistan .
Our mission there is long over |
Quote:
Yep, I agree, but abruptly pulling out all our troops and giving the Country to the Taliban instead of a slow, orderly pull out was a complete disaster and a national disgrace. China and Russia have nothing to do with it. That's just smoke and misdirection on your part. . |
Russia and China like seeing our country waste money because they are adversarial with us .
We were wasting billions per year on Afghanistan till Biden pulled the plug . That’s the point . |

Destroyer youre WRONG again WRONG as usual.
You post fake data just like the lying cheating traitor x President trump . Cost us $300 million per day in Afghanistan. https://www.forbes.com/sites/hanktuc...s-yet-to-come/ |
“President Biden understands history when it comes to Afghanistan. He made the difficult decision to not hand over this longest of American wars to a fifth president,” Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat, said this week."
You have to wonder - is he talking about president Harris? |
Quote:
Our true strategic competitors, China and Russia, would love nothing more than the United States to continue to funnel billions of dollars in resources and attention into stabilizing Afghanistan indefinitely. What the US was spending in Afghanistan has little effect on the US economy or the federal budget. To see Uncle Chocolate Chocolate Chip act as if those billions matter as he tries to push a $3,000,000,000,000 porkfest through would be laughable if it weren't so sad. What China and Russia DO LOVE seeing is the once-superpower USA humiliated on the world stage. As Bernard Lewis once said, "...the danger here is that America risks being seen as harmless as an enemy, and treacherous as a friend... It's a very dangerous lesson to teach the planet." |
Pipe - youre wrong again .
The costs are the costs direct from FORBES, a typically conservative and accurate source of financial information. This isnt a popularity contest this is a record of FACTS. You quote BS I quote facts. You may not like it but doesnt change facts |

Let's talk more about Mr. Tucker's Forbes piece. He says that the honor and property of the United States of America is "gone missing." He also says that thousands of interpreters and their families await visas to the US while taliban fighters parade triumphantly in captured US tanks and Humvees. He goes on saying that 10,000 US citizens still await evacuation and thousands more shelter in place. Meanwhile Joe and Kamala are on vacation, and generals are giving the press updates.
Great job, Joe! https://forum.ih8mud.com/data/xfmg/t...jpg?1629217935 |

Know what? You're right. I made a typo. Sue me. It should have said "last" year, not "per" year. Don't forget that last year and this year we were drawing down our forces, instead of 100,000 we were down to 2400. Additionally, there were no casualty deaths, no major battles, and a host of other reasons for the decline in cost. Now, instead of worrying about the smoke and mirrors excuse about the cost, why don't you try actually answering Pipe Dreams post? . |
Destroyer you didn’t write a typo you wrote out the word billion and claimed it cost us one billion per year which is absolutely wrong.
Now youre same as trump the lying cheating traitor . |
CNN doing an excellent job covering this Afghanistan situation with reporters in country with live reports.
CNN also deeply questioning President Bidens handling of this thing from his past comments to what comes next . My own opinion based on all data so far is: 1. No matter how we withdrew Taliban was going to quickly take over. 2. Biden Admin did a lousy job of planning and initiating. A more deliberate measures step by step approach would have been much better. |
We've gone from "we planned for every contingency!" to "it would have been chaos no matter what we did" in less than 24 hours.
We have the Defense Secretary saying that "we don't have the capability to go out and collect large numbers of people," despite the fact that British paratroopers are doing JUST THAT, getting their citizens and the Afghanis who worked for them out of hiding and to the airport. And who's bright idea was it to evacuate military before civilians? All of this despite having no less than 7 months to prepare? And then there's the ABC exclusive interview with Biden, of which I've only seen a few minutes because it hasn't been released in its entirety yet (if it ever will be) and the link that ABC put up for a transcript isn't working. Here's one exchange: George Stephanopoulos: “But we’ve all seen the pictures. We’ve seen those hundreds of people packed into a C-17. We’ve seen Afghans falling —“ Joe Biden: [Angrily cuts him off] “That was four days ago, five days ago.” What? It was the day before yesterday. And what difference does it make even if it was a week ago? Our country is in the worst of hands, led by an addle minded fool. |
I give kudos to Clarissa Ward (CNN) for her live reporting from Kabul. She is doing a good job.

See the speech made by the above pictured veteran MP Tom Tugendhat. 7+ minutes but well worth your time. It is at this link: https://twitter.com/JamesAALongman/s...54085324484608 |
I trust the judgment and remarks of a man who fought alongside the Afghanistan military 100 times more than those of addle minded Joe. (not to mention one who can form complete and coherent sentences without the assistance of a teleprompter)

Analysis: TRUE
Love him or hate him but Trump would be taking questions every day. He’d also threaten Afghanistan with nukes if a single American was harmed. The media would call him Hitler while the Taliban was quickly loading every American onto exiting planes. He wouldn’t have left them. I for one would much rather have a President the media hates, but the world fears. |
Even this softball interview shows the ineptness and dishonesty of the President. And that's without seeing what was left on the edit room floor.
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/bide..._live_hero_hed I'd say it's 25th Amendment time, but the prospect of President Kamala is just as frightening. |
I watched the entire video you provided and don’t think Biden did an awful job…..
1. He said it was never going to be a withdrawal free of any chaos 2. Hes committed to getting our people out . Joe Biden grew up with a vocal stutter which hes fought to overcome . Hes not nearly the slick talker as trump. Trumps a great public speaker and stays in his lane of criticism and blame very effectively . Trumps also unfortunately his own worst enemy with deep character flaws as a lying cheating traitor to our nation. This is not hate me about it. This is about upholding our constitution and going with the truth and facts . This is how I stand with our nation. |

He also said the the French sent their elite Paratroopers out into the Country to round up all the French citizens and escort them to safety. They had enough men, but Biden wouldn't allow more men into Afghanistan to do the same thing for our own citizens. Now it seems to me that if you are low on men you just bring in a few more. But Biden and the State Dept. wouldn't allow that. (Strange, they had no problem bringing in 6000 Marines to guard the airport all of a sudden) The Taliban now has TENS OF THOUSANDS of American made guns and ammo, enough to equip an entire army. And that's not counting the armored vehicles, drones and other equipment they captured. All because of the senile old fool Biden. This whole debacle is Biden's fault. He broke the contract that was working, that was made between President Trump and the Taliban. As soon as he did so the Taliban started their conquest of the Country with the result we have now. Biden was willing to sacrifice our own citizens for the sake of just leaving quickly instead of adhering to the deal made by President Trump. This chaos and national disgrace is the result. Finally, it's always a good PR idea to wrap yourself in patriotism and say you're doing something for the good of the Country. (A tactic you seem to have learned). . |
Tactic I seemed to have learned ?
WRONG again destroyer — I support the truth and facts not totally unsubstantiated lies and deception. |
Quote:
Blah, blah, blah "I support the truth and facts. Blah blah Trump is a liar, blah blah, cheating con man traitor, blah blah...." :you: You should try once to actually address the comments on the thread, not attack the person making it. I'd respect you much more if you did. I'm sure we all would. . |
The truth and facts have to be repeated to offset and battle the lies and disinformation.

America Is Back! they told us.
Really? Is it? When Rachel Maddow condemns how badly this administration has flubbed up the withdrawal, you know it's really bad. Watch this segment from her show: https://youtu.be/AdEwUPq7Ymw "This is not how this is supposed to go, right?" Maddow said. She continued, "This is not the might of the US government. This is not the promise we made to people like Zak. It's not how we were supposed to be bringing them home because getting this wrong does not mean, oh, they'll hop the next flight out." "Window's closing. Getting this wrong means theses people will get killed. And so you just keep on doing whatever you can." "But Trump!" bgreene will say... |
Gee, who could have possibly foreseen this?

Biden in his press conference today says that neither he nor his Secretary of State have seen any question of credibility from our allies around the world.
Does he live in a parallel world? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E9QUY03X...jpg&name=small https://pbs.twimg.com/card_img/14281...jpg&name=small "I have seen no question of our credibility from our allies around the world... As a matter of fact: the exact opposite... All of our allies have agreed with that." And then he changed the subject. https://twitter.com/i/status/1428799415171657736 |
Biden also said that he's not aware of any Americans having difficulty getting to the airport in Kabul. He should turn on CNN. Or talk with his Defense Secretary, who said that Americans have been beaten by the Taliban in Kabul, and called it "unacceptable."
|
Sad that it took a huge humanitarian crisis to expose to the world what so many of us already knew, that Biden is a fraud, unprepared to lead, and only elected due to the covid pandemic.

No more mean tweets. America is doing great. Wonder how joes vacation is going while he forgot about all those people he left stranded? His speech was all lies but the sheep will not see through it. Complete disaster.
|
Oh now the New York Post is acceptable again — and not labeled as “ fake and fraud” because it’s printed bad news on Biden hu ……
|
Just shows you how bad Biden really is when even the far left controlled media turns against him.

Now all of a sudden you’re praising and posting the news — the same news you screamed fraud because you can’t take the truth about trump. Same behavior as trump - when he beat Hillary by a very close margin in 2016, trump praised our very good and accurate voting systems . Fast forward to 2020 trump LOSES by bigger margin and all of a sudden he calls our voting systems not accurate .. What a joke Trump is that’s not funny . |

June 6, 2017: CNN's Gloria Borger, Eric Lichtblau, Jake Tapper and Brian Rokus; and ABC's Justin Fishel and Jonathan Karl reported that Comey was going to refute Donald Trump's claim that Comey told Trump three times he was not under investigation. Instead, Comey did the opposite and confirmed Trump's claim. June 22, 2017: CNN's Thomas Frank reported that Congress was investigating a "Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials." The report was later retracted. Frank and two other CNN employees resigned in the fallout. December 2, 2017: ABC News' Brian Ross reported that former Trump official Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn was going to testify that candidate Trump had directed him to contact "the Russians." Even though such contact would not be in of itself a violation of law, the news was treated as an explosive indictment of Trump in the Russia collusion narrative, and the stock market fell on the news. ABC later corrected the report to reflect that Trump had already been elected when he reportedly asked Flynn to contact the Russians about working together to fight ISIS and other issues. Ross was suspended.[/COLOR] These news sources? I can go on. |
