Beautiful day todat not such a great day today

Confusing title isn't it, I launch my boat in Atlantic highlands and it was a beautiful day ,water calm no sind ,great I get to my boat and there is a shine on he water, oil shine ,looks like it's from my engine but hey it's a two stroke so I'm really not to concerned to make a long and boring story short the oil is pouring out of my oil cap that had a crack so my day was short now I have to find a cap with the low oil alarm

Destroyer 08-09-2020 10:52 PM

Destroyer 08-18-2020 12:32 PM

Yep. Glad you got the cap. :)

steplift20 08-18-2020 04:22 PM

Thanks destroyer, went out today and no problems but also no fish, a snapper blue1 and a sea robin and about a dozen short fluke , gotta
go the ocean side that's where the fish are.

Destroyer 08-19-2020 03:35 AM

Planning on joining you shortly. Need to switch trailers on the boats and hook up the new electric down-riggers. Want to try bounce balling for Fluke outside... I figure I'll work my way down to the Shrewsbury rocks and back up again :head:

This time of the year especially when we've been so hot for a while, the water is way too warm, so here is my lousy 2 cents. I think the water is way too warm, those Fluke are in deeper water of the channels, off the drop offs, like Ambrose. GOOD LUCK have FUN!!!!!!! BE SAFE

steplift20 08-19-2020 04:31 PM

Yep your 2 cents are correct, I hear they are in deeper water on the ocean side mud bouy,Scotland , cause they are getting sea bass in the mix, this guy had a 21 inch fluke and big sea bass , nothing in the back but a sea turtle lol and maybe a bull shark , we were drifting by the pound nets by the coast guard and something big hit my sons line are broke the line like it was a string , that was weird Hey destroyer if you need a hand with your boat switching trailers ,let me know I can help you, retired lol

I really appreciate the offer for help. Fortunately I have my son that lives with us and is willing to help, so it's not needed. We're scheduled to do it this Sat, weather permitting.

You got the best helper , good luck and I think sat, will be a good day
