Welcome to the new server

If you are reading these words, we have successfully migrated to the new server. Everything should be the same as it was on the old site with no loss of data whatsoever.

Please have a look around and make sure everything works. I think everything is functional, but there may be something I have missed. If you see a problem, let me know in this thread and I will try and work it out.

I think this is the fourth time I have moved this forum, with the first being the worst. It's funny how I have had so much to do with this site, and I don't even participate or own a Wellcraft! There are two reasons for that.

I first got involved because I am a close friend of the Maco Man and I did it to help him out.

These days I do it because I firmly believe that this site deserves to live on. I understand how important it is to have a resource where you can get information and compare notes with other like-minded enthusiasts. This community is something which could never be duplicated on Facebook, where fleeting nuggets of vital information are sandwiched between funny cat memes, quizzes revealing which Disney Princess you are, and your uncle Clyde ranting about politics. And good luck finding that needed information next week. It is here today and gone tomorrow!

In this community, you can find a discussion about repairing your boat or other needed knowledge that was posted a year or more ago. All you have to do is search.

So, once again, I am pleased to keep the party going. But now, I am tired. I think it is time for a cold one and to hit the hay.

Wow, this calls for a celebration! I've learned a lot in this process. For one I've learned what a great guy Valiant is for doing all this work for us. Not only that but you've probably noticed he has a good sense of humor too.

Looks like we have some celebrating to do! Cue the hi-five smilies!

:clap::sun::beer:

Huge thanks to Valiant, Jjuriga, Macojoe, and BigShrimpin!!

Because of you -w
e live on!!!!!!

bradford 06-09-2017 07:40 PM

I appreciate all involved.

I'm about as non tech minded as you can be and this is the only site I'm on besides checking out craigslist boats and a couple youtube channels I like.

If it comes down to needing a few bucks to keep the lights on or making someone's tech efforts worth it I'm glad to chip in.

steplift20 06-09-2017 07:52 PM

Wow valiant thank you so much for keeping this great site active, but we as a community and wellcraft owners have a job to do , first is getting you to get a wellcraft steplift Thanks a lot for your take over This site helped me in so many ways Thanks again

BillTex 06-09-2017 08:59 PM

Many thanks to valiant, mj, BR and all who keep this happening. I think valiant nailed it when he said there is value in a (non tangible) entity such as this. Great folks willing to help/participate just because...

Very happy to log in tonight and find the site up and running!

Rock on!

Bill

Lots of words and emotions running thru my mind. But honestly, it can all be boiled down to two words.
Thank you

Wow, made it through hyperdrive.

Thanks to all who got us here

Edit: managed to do it on my ipad,. Having trouble on laptop
Still working on it

edit #2: made it on chrome!!

Striper80 06-10-2017 10:58 AM

Tried a few times and I just managed to get through. Thanks to all that are keeping it going.

SkunkBoat 06-10-2017 01:35 PM

On my MAC...Got here using CHROME and googling wellcraftv20. :sun:

Safari on MAC keeps going to the old page. Tried deleting bookmark, clearing history and Preferences/Privacy/Cookies & website data/manage websites and Remove Wellcraftv20.com.....no help. Will post when I figure it out.:head:

Strangely, I can get to Gallery, History, and Links but not Forum.

Safari on iPhone got here by searching wellcraftv20. However, I noticed that my bookmark was gone due to my iphone syncing with my mac.

OK! Not sure what did it but..
From CHROME, I copied a link and posted it to the Facebook Page (The box that says "Learn More")
I redid everthing stated above and then rebooted the MAC.
Then in Safari I went to Facebook and clicked the link and it got me here (I had tried that before rebooting and it didn't work.)

This is the most seamless computer experience I've ever had. I shut off my IPad one night and when I opened the Wellcraft tab the next night, I was already logged in to the new server - it was like nothing had ever happened. If all of my computer experiences were like this, it'd take the hate out of the love/hate relationship:sun:

wellcraftv20step 06-11-2017 04:28 AM

I had the same experience as scook, turned on my I pad and their it was .Thanks so much to all you guys involved it is greatly appreciated !!

macojoe 06-11-2017 05:58 AM

Good work guys wish I could have been more help but I got a lot of issues going on right now that you guys are not even aware of I don't post too much anymore I don't even have a boat anymore and I don't even fish anymore but I'll check in from time to time good luck everybody

Can't get through on my phone anymore. I'm on my daughters iPAd so I can access.

macojoe 06-11-2017 04:59 PM

Unable to get on with my phone and with the computer everything was like nothing ever happened

charlie_the_tuna 06-11-2017 07:11 PM

the toilet in the upstairs bathroom doesn't flush.

Striper80 06-11-2017 08:37 PM

Its weird, I cleared cookies and history on my phone, and restarted it. I got a notification email and clicked it from my phone. It still took me to the old site.

Blue_Runner 06-12-2017 10:19 AM

I know there have been some problems reaching the site on the new server due to cached pages. I know because I am still having problems myself using 2 different PC's. I found success using FireFox, but I'm still having trouble with Chrome and Internet Explorer. Putting this out there in case it helps someone else who is having trouble. Try Fire Fox.

Destroyer 06-12-2017 03:42 PM

I'm running Windows 7, using Chrome, and have had zero problems. In fact if you didn't tell me I'd have never known that we had switched. I'm curious, what version of Windows are the people that are having problems running? :head:

valiant_200 06-12-2017 04:46 PM

Thanks for all of the great compliments. It is always gratifying to have your efforts recognized and appreciated. You are all great!

As for the move itself, the results at my home are mixed. I have one machine that now refuses to see the new server, although it briefly did, then reverted to the old server. The other machine goes to the new site no problem.

The way it should have worked is everyone should have just switched to the new server with no noticeable change whatsoever. Some of you are reporting that experience and that is great. For others however, myself included, the switch has not been seamless. In fact, in all of the times we have changed servers with this site, this has been the most problematic in terms of the DNS (Domain Name Server) resolving to the proper host.

Based on your reports and my own observations, the problem does not seem to be limited to one kind of browser or one kind of operating system. All seem to be affected and, at the same time, all seem to be able to get through with no apparent pattern to their behavior.

I expected all of the problems would have cleared up by now. Usually it takes 24 hours, no longer than 48, for the new DNS to propagate. Unfortunately, for some, the frustration continues.

Skunkboat, the reason you can see the Gallery and not the Forum is because I never turned off the Gallery on the old server. It will probably begin returning a 404 error whenever the old server goes dark. Hopefully, by then, the problem will be resolved.

Charlie, I don't know what to tell you about your upstairs toilet, but I am glad you are able to see the site to tell us about it.

macojoe 06-12-2017 06:00 PM

My previous post said I was unable to see what my phone or computer that is wrong I can see the site with both my phone and computer perfectly but I am running a brand new computer and my phone has been good for now anyway so I said good job

Blue_Runner 06-12-2017 08:41 PM

Charlie is directly responsible for his toilet flushing problem, this I can tell you.

June 14th at 11pm is when I think the old server will stop responding. Fingers crossed that these intermittent problems will cease before then.

Blue_Runner 06-12-2017 08:42 PM

Everybody who cannot see the new server, please raise your hand. :hi:

If I turn wifi off on my phone it's like magic and can view it. As soon as turn it on, I get the message.

I have the opposite alot of the times on another forum. I'm having no issues on any of my equipment on wifi, haven't tried 4g yet. But another forum I'm an admin on I can use no problems on wifi, but if I switch to my verizon data, it goes blank.

valiant_200 06-13-2017 02:45 AM

As of early Tuesday morning, all of my devices are now going to the new server. :sun:

Blue_Runner 06-13-2017 09:19 PM

All problems from one of my two computers are gone and I have no issue getting to the new server. On the other computer I've found that when I go to www.wellcraftv20.com it still goes to the old site. However when I go to wellcraftv20.com it directs me to the new site.

randlemanboater 06-20-2017 06:06 AM

Thanks to everyone involved in keeping us afloat!

bgreene 06-20-2017 02:09 PM

Thanks for keeping this site going, appreciated.

Let me know if it costs and I'll kick in a little dough.

Blue_Runner 06-20-2017 11:17 PM

Thanks to everyone who has offered to pitch in. Nothing is needed right now, but I plan to update the donate page so anyone that wants can kick in a few bucks to start a fund for future upgrade. Will let you guys know once that is done. Right now I'm just glad we made it here!

rgarr 04-20-2018 01:52 PM

Hi there,

For some reason I can only log into the Form section. I cannot log into the Gallery or History?

Any help would be much appreciated...

Thank you!

phatdaddy 04-22-2018 06:15 AM
