Thats all the gas i had. I could barely hold that tale up. 2 hour battle on stand up takes ot out of ya and she was a mean girl! Then 3 of us had to get her over the side.

Fished out of Oregon inlet wensday. The morning started out crazy not being able to find ice for the boat on the way down. Got off to a late start. Had an electrinics blackout 10 miles off the beach freaked us all out but i was able to get us back online. Showed up really late to the party and Lines in the water at 8:30. We couldnt even get the 3rd rod in the water and she crashed the long rigger on a white/crystal joe shute followed by a horsey. It was crazy not even trolling 3 minutes. As i was fighting the fish we saw a pod of 8 or 9 bluefins crashing the topwater that were 600 to a 1000 pounds. Back to the dock by 1:00 drinking beer and cleaning fish. Crazy crazy!

This fish was Caught within eye sight of us.....1000lb fish

phatdaddy 02-26-2017 10:53 AM

So, as a recreational angler, are you allowed to sell that fish? Florida has some really strict laws preventing rec fishermen from selling catch. All i know about tuna fishing, i see on tv, but that looks to be a pretty exspensive fish.

BillTex 02-26-2017 09:21 PM

No rec can't sell...

Yes...they are expensive...they can also be valuable...

SkunkBoat 02-27-2017 08:43 AM

If you're out of freezer space, I'll take a chunk...:sly:

It was split between 3 of us. It goes to co-workers, neighbors and friends. And the welder that just welded up my ladder and rod holders on my t-top. And we have been eating it all weekend.

Is that the boat from the TV show coming in behind you? You went out through Hatteras Inlet or Oregon?
