:love::love:

What would a "V25" look like? with twin Yamaha 300s?

This is an awesome thread.

Always liked those.

got one in the shop right now. BTW, thats the same hull as the 233 Formula, Whitewater, SeaVee, COntender, and about 10 others. As far as deaming about V designs, I wish Wellcraft had gone the way of the Chriscraft when making the V21. IMO the Chirs Craft was the best visual representation on the V hull design, its just Chris really fell down on the job building them. You hardly see them anymore, the hulls delaminate over time. I know a guy that had his completely restored only to have the hull come apart 6 months later

Heres a fun fact..Albemarle was owned by 2 guys....they had a disagreement and one left and started Carolina classic using the same molds. Carolina classics closed shop and they are back together again....as was said earlier these hull are based off the 233 formula mold and slightly modified. Great boats

last page of the thread he gives numbers:nice:

"57.9 Top End so far.
Gets around 1.7/1.8 at 35MPH. Above 45 it is 1.3 or so and above 50, well above fifty if you are moving really fast for a heavy boat. Never goes below 1.0 MPG however. "

After we spoke that day about that boat I started looking for one. When we launched it I took it for a long sea trial out the inlet. It rode so good. I found this one down by Cape May. It's a 1990 hull and the motors are 1993. It might need a gas tank. Other than that and a good cleaning it's good to go. I'm going to keep an eye out for newer power. Or maybe sell my boat without the motor and just look for one more.

Captpete, What's the make on that?

I started looking after we talked too but I only find inboards. The Carolinas and Albemares are all inboards or jackshaft i/o too. I like that old style motor well, no need to do a bracket. I'm looking for one cheap enough to be able to swing a re-power with new 4 stroke zukis. Thanks for the sea trial review, good to hear. Congrats, Good Luck with it

I saw your new ride in the boatyard. I'm jealous. Great find.

Pete that boat is the best of the best 24' boats on the market!!!!!!!!!!!! I think Shamrock made a copy of that boat with twin V-8's too.
Best of luck with her!!!!!!!!!!

captpete13 10-06-2016 07:00 PM

Thanks guys. The boat needs a gas tank so I need to sell my V20. With any luck I'll have her good and ready for the spring striper run.
