Supertech t c w 3

I have a 150 1988 mercury out board and have been using Wally World t c w 3 for a long time , have not had any issues with the motor but was thinking if I should use pennzoil blended oil? I would love to know what you guys are using and any comments about the oil you use, plus it
would be very informative info to all , let's see what we all are using thanks

Many have run the wally world stuff without issue. I liked the PENNSOIL blend because of the reduced smoke myself. The synthetic blend cuts down on alot of the smoke at idle on premix engines.

Mines fuel injected what oil are you using?
That's the only differance the smoke at idle?

Oil injected or fuel injected?

I always used the Mercury premium plus. Worked great for 20 years (94-2014) until the oil alert module failed and I didn't fill the tank.

I've run the Mercury oil before in the past. It works fine, but was SMOKY compared to the pennzoil blend, and the it cost more even catching it on sale.

Sorry not fuel injected I meant to say oil injected

THEFERMANATOR 05-11-2016 02:33 PM

When I had oil injection on my merc, I ran the merc oil. I have had issues with the pennsoil and oil injection. The pennsoil is a thinner viscosity oil, and I've had problems with smoking and excessive oil consumption with the pennsoil stuff with oil injection. The other really good oil for oil injection is yamalube.

No problems with super tech? Did you ever use it

THEFERMANATOR 05-11-2016 08:30 PM

I never used it. I know alot of guys here did with premix, but for oil injection I would run a high grade of 2 stroke like yamalube or the mercury stuff.

I've used supertech for pre mix, but would use the manufacturer's brand for oil injection.

A few years ago I bought like 12 gallons of yamalube... Big jugs with slices in em from a careless stock boy w a box cutter... Got em for like 75% off and dumped em into 5 gallon gas cans... Still have about 5 gal left... I gotta say I love it... Not much smoke... Smells good... Too bad I can't always get it at that price.

steplift20 05-13-2016 01:20 PM

Hey smoke you have to find out who the stock boy was and make a deal with him wink wink

steplift20 05-13-2016 01:21 PM

No, it is a high quality, ashless 2 stroke oil that will work in ANY 2 stroke except for those that specify DFI oil(although YAMAHA says YAMALUBE is the reccomended oil for there HPDI's). I know MANY people who run nothing but YAMALUBE in ALL there 2 stroke engines regardless of manufacturer. Alot of 2 stroke engine builders use YAMALUBE for assembly because it is noted to stay where you put it and not run off like alot of 2 stroke oils do. This way they stay coated with oil internally while in storage.
