Needs for the new to me boat

Destroyer has been nice enough to offer me a winch, and a vhf radio. Inaforty is going to fix my top. Bradford says he has the helm, BS has the ram & spare tire.
So what else I need is,
tires (4) 12' $50 each I am going to start buying one a month starting next month. Battery, water pump kit for 1986 1.6 seadrive (120hp omc) some wireing, GPS, prop not sure on pitch, .
cash to reg. Then I should be good.

the  List

GregV20 01-03-2016 11:19 PM

Somebody stuck you with a real piece of junk, huh?

:embarsed:

Just kidding - gave you everything I had; wish I had more to offer!

spareparts 01-04-2016 07:06 AM

I'll dig out a controll box for you

garbubba 01-04-2016 09:42 AM

Might have a prop around, let me know what size & pitch you are looking for.

garbubba 01-04-2016 11:59 AM

Just checked, only large johnny-rude prop I have is a 15 1/2" x 13 pitch aluminum. it's used but was a runner when removed from the 225 'rude it was on.

macojoe 01-04-2016 06:48 PM

Thanks guys!! greg it a great boat, but i have to fix it up some not *****ing about you at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks

bradford your right!! but i new that getting into this

thanks spare!!

thanks garbubba, that soubds like the one i had on my old v but with a 175, i will look this week to see whats on it now and let you know!!

THEFERMANATOR 01-04-2016 11:00 PM

The 1.6L 115HP OMC should have the 4" V4 gearcase on it, not the 4.5" large gear case. Let me chack, I may still have the prop that was on mine. What you want is a 13" x 15 pitch stainless for it.

THEFERMANATOR 01-05-2016 12:02 AM

Found the prop out in the shed. Aint pretty, but its yours if you want it. It was the same prop I ran on my 1.6l sea drive.

Thanks no hurry as spring is awayus away from now, just trying to get what I can covered now so I know what I am dealing with in spring.

Thanks all!! Joe

garbubba 01-06-2016 06:17 PM

Ferm is correct , of course, mine has a 4 1/2 " hub. I was just hoping.

Since it's already sitting in a box & ready to go how about this?

I'll put it over on classifieds as a best offer in a week or whatever & have the winner send the $$ to Macojoe for the tire fund.

It's nothing special but would be an excellent spare, I have the spacers, nut, & all.

I'll take pics & get it posted shortly.

Doug

I have a Garmin 182? I think. It's a little older black and white. But it works fine. It's yours if you want it. I also have a few stereos if you want one.

macojoe 01-09-2016 04:29 PM

That would be great Capt!! Thank you!!

Destroyer 01-09-2016 10:56 PM

Joe, sorry to say but that Panasonic VHF radio doesn't work. When I tested it I get zero reception, even on the weather channels. It lights up but only gets static. Will be sending a 712 Powerwinch out to you this week, but you'll have to continue your search for a VHF. Anyone have one that works that they can part with??

inaforty 01-10-2016 02:22 PM

Joe,
I have a VHF for ya.
I need to get over there to pick up your top. Just got done with the cover for the Bertram and finshing up the top for my V. When I stop by to get the top I'll drop it off the VHF.
You said something about rear seats? If you want the two pedestal type seats I took out of my V you can have'm.

Let me know, I haven't shipped the prop yet, so I could throw in the set I have if they're long enough. I also have the side mount control box.

macojoe 01-18-2016 03:39 PM

i will have to get a measurement, but we are under 5"snow right now! far some reason i have 16 in my head from the build on the other v??

macojoe 01-22-2016 08:42 PM

Gave a quick measure today cables look like 12 or 13 footers will be fine, 12 if just the casing, but 13 if you count the cable going into the motor

inaforty 01-24-2016 04:13 PM

Update!
Joe your top is done.
I restitched every seam I could get to without total dismantling the top. Looks like original thread was giving up do to service life and there might have been a tension issue with the stitching. The top only needed a small patch.
Here's what we started with.

Here is the only spot that i could find need a patch.

Here is the stitches failing.

Patch in place.

Top finished!

Looks GREAT Barry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!

GregV20 01-27-2016 03:50 PM

That came out great, awesome job! I didn't think there was much life in that top.

kamikaze 01-28-2016 10:21 AM

Inaforty:

I jealous of the sewing table you have. You are all setup!

Kamikaze

inaforty 01-28-2016 06:40 PM

You're very welcome Joe.
My turn to pay it forward. I have been helped many times by many members here on the board. I lurk a lot here on the board just reading and gathering info and ideas from other folks.
I forgot to tell you I reattached a forward windshield strap that was cut in two.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...psnb5qxl0q.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...psqnj8uzmp.jpg

Greg,
The top wasn't in bad shape at all. The stitching was failing but the Sunbrella is in good shape.

Kamikaze,
We got tired of using the dining room table. We have to have full basements here so it we had room. I built my table up high so I work standing and not bent over. Makes things tough when working with and reaching patterns but it's better than a sore back. Most sail makers have their machines mount in the floor to work large projects. That would cripple me.

THEFERMANATOR 01-31-2016 10:31 PM

I've been slow to get much of anything done, but I got the prop and cables boxxed up tonight. Hope to drop it off next day or two to be on its way to you.

macojoe 02-01-2016 01:48 AM

Thanks alot Ferm!!!!!!!!:beer::

THEFERMANATOR 02-01-2016 04:58 PM

Prop and cables are on there way. They look rough, but thecables are still nice and smooth, and the prop always ran smooth and topped out about 5250-5300 on my 1.6l.
