Got The New Maco Started!!!

Well BS came over today to help Dad check out the new Maco. So far he's very lucky!
Compression is 110 in all cylinders except one, which is 120.
It needs a new water pump and few small things. But it's up and running! My father will be online to post a video later today.

I just want to thank all of you. You're an amazing bunch of people and he is very blessed to have you as friends.

Macojoe's family is complete once again!!

I have a NFB helm and a cable from my Striper. The cable was put on the boat in 09 but has been sitting in the garage since 12. The helm was from 2011.

macojoe 10-11-2015 03:44 PM

I had NFB on my old V20 and it was fine also! I have to measure the leanth and stuff to see what it needs?? But I will get there! Want to disconnect the oil injection and go premix also

Greg . . . That was a very generous gift for MJ. You should have seen him dancing when the engine fired up. I'm pretty sure he could buy 2 batteries (and put in fresh fuel) and run it "as-is" without having to do anything. Compression was 115 - 120 on all 4 cylinders.

MJ - I have a Hynautic hydraulic RAM . . . you'll need a helm and hoses. I used a seastar 1.7 helm with this ram for a while and then switched to a K-6 ram this year.

THEFERMANATOR 10-11-2015 08:17 PM

I believe I still have the special seadrive steering ram out in the yard. Only problem is you would have to swap out the steering arm to use it, and I doubt you want to open that can of worms.

bradford 10-12-2015 08:57 AM

I think I might have a hydrolic steering helm, hoses have been cut, and don't really know condition. It's yours MJ if you need it.

Great news!!!

macojoe 10-12-2015 05:09 PM

Bradford I will take it!! Thank you!!!

MJ I'll be going over to where I have that one parked tomorrow and will retrieve the helm for you. Just pm me your address again.

THEFERMANATOR 10-13-2015 10:48 PM

If you were closer I'd give you my deck box, but shipping on it would cost a fortune i bet.

macojoe 10-14-2015 12:39 PM

Thanks any way Ferm!!

Bradford what helm is that any way?? BS was saying something about a persure tank or something if it began with a ?? N??

It's a teleflex. If you want the "persure" tank it's gonna cost you extra bro.....LOL

I couldn't get the retaining screw that holds the center cap off without messing it up, so I said what the hell I'll give him the destroyer wheel with it. Took it to ups and they wanted damn 107 dollars to bring it to the land of ice and snow! I'm gonna check with the post office and see what they'll charge. I sent some stuff to SmokeontheWater and it cost a damn fortune to get it to him too.

Shipping charges have gone thru the roof .. Don't know why. I sent a box to a friend in Tenn. the other day. Cost $64 for end of day, 3 rd day delivery. UGH

macojoe 10-17-2015 09:09 AM

Thanks Bradford!! if its to much no worry U have 8 months to figure things out!
I have not shipped anything in a long time, have no idea

THEFERMANATOR 10-17-2015 09:51 AM

Shipping is ridiculous anymore. Shipped a tail section of an ALLISON to somebody a few weeks ago. Piece wasn't in that big of a box, and weighed less than 20 pounds. Cost right at $40 for standard ground delivery UPS. USPS wanted even more.

smokeonthewater 10-17-2015 08:35 PM

hey Bradford, Are you by chance taking it to the ups store? possibly letting them pack it too?

If you pack it yourself and take it to an actual ups hub it should be MUCH cheaper.... ups store is another business and makes a profit over what ups actually charges.

yes, I'm gonna get the wheel off, and that should need a much smaller box, probably do one of those "if it fits it ships" deals from the post office.

My glad I wasn't holding you up any, it will be a lot sooner than 8 months.
