Some of us may want to communicate as the Striper run develops.

Sounds good to me. You still have my number? I just put my boat in for the season on Thursday.

Sounds good to me. This will be the first season in 4 years that I'm in early.

SkunkBoat 03-23-2015 10:13 AM

good luck guys. I won't be in until the end of MAY. Boat is still in a snowy field and I have to do the Transom!

Striper80 03-23-2015 08:24 PM

A guy in my fishing group caught quite a few bass in the Hackensack River yesterday casting swim shads. the water temps were way low but they were keeper size.

bgreene 04-10-2015 03:55 AM

Raritan's starting to get going..........bunker influx.

Fisherman's Den, Belmar reports .......not yet

Raritan Bay.....just a few shorts so far

Striper80 04-18-2015 09:41 PM

Raritan bay is loaded with shorts on the flats.

bgreene 04-19-2015 08:19 PM

That's what I hear, thanks.....
I haven't trailered up for the shorts, usually wait on the bigger fish but who knows

bgreene 04-21-2015 06:56 PM

Some LARGE Stripers caught at night on Rarity - see the pics on Bass Barn Raritan Forum

Striper80 04-22-2015 09:24 AM

If you're talking about Bucktails, try and get a location out of him.

bgreene 04-23-2015 03:56 AM

I'm looking at this Sunday for anyone else fishing. On VHF I'm the V21 simple as that.
On cell, at least one of you has my # and send PM if you want to exchange #'s.

Yeh - J Bucktails reported on those large fish.........
The Fisherman Party boat is doing ok up there on Raritan Bay too.

With Miss Belmar hitting those big fish on the ocean, I may just launch from Belmar, especially if the wind report for Sunday holds up as fading out NW.

Looks like V-20 weather to me! Keyport flats is one spot along with many others in the Raritan Bay. I just may try to fish one of those spots this week end and possibly leave the Step Up in the Highlands for a couple of weeks.
Good luck to all!:nice:

I heard that the Miss Belmar padded those reports a bit.

Ocean's been quiet except for that report........
We'll see how it goes. Raritan could be a parking lot Sunday but so what, I find my spots.

Just thinking it will be a good day for 1st trip......even if I do stretch the legs and run from Belmar to inside Raritan Bay ! Bright sun, little or no wind, calm seas and at my boats cruising speed of 60 knots, it's a pretty quick ride. Did I write 60 knots ?

Capt Ron of the Fishermen is usually pretty accurate with his reports.

SkunkBoat 05-13-2015 12:43 PM

So, Who's catching? We got the foggy days in May. Someone had to be snaggin' bunker last weekend?
