Approx 8 weeks till fishing....... Here in NJ........time flies. |
 I'm counting the days. |
st patricks day kicks it off for us should be seeing squid soon water temp is 58* |
id like to be fishing here in ohio in a month but mother nature seems to be vetoing that one.... Erie is close to 100% covered in ice |
I wish it was 8 weeks but more realistic it is 12 weeks. except for a 2 winter flounder limit beginning in March, there ain't nothing to catch til mid May stripers arrive in numbers. Water temp at Ambrose buoy is 36 degrees. I'm just looking forward to some warm weather to get the boat ready |
Stripers in Raritan on clam and trolled plugs usually by mid April......maybe later this year due to the cold water but we'll see ! |
Can't wait. I'm finally going to be back at AHMM for the first season since before Sandy. |

And we just got 7" of snow....yay me. |

Well, there were ice boats sailing out on the Toms River and Barnegat Bay today. It is a rare winter where that happens...if that gives you any idea of how cold it has been. Usually they are up in the mountain lakes not on salt bays. |
Any day now I'll start hearing Lemonfish reports. |
weird how they show up to the west first. ( i guess your talking about ling or cobia) i have always heard they migrate up from south fl. to us seems like mobile, pcola, and destin get a visit before we do. |

When Phatdaddy posts up some new spanish mackerel pics is when winter is just about over. |
the old timers say the spanish arrive around the third foggy day in march today was day #1 planning on trying to go on wed |
