Enough is Enough!!!

Got another 12" on top of the 2 feet on the ground, now another storm coming Thur followed by below 0 temps this weekend! I have been doing my best to keep up with it but I am losing the battle! Can't dig for crap, exspecilty after dialysis and I have to be able to get there! Now running out of oil for heat and fuel asst says because the bank has not taken the other house I am a 2 home owner and can't get help.
Iam glad I am close to the house next door and they let me steal there internet or I would not be here.
If there is a good side its that CB lives 45 min north of me and got 26" on top of the 3 feet on the ground!! But he is healthier then I am, by a little! His knee is killing him and he is trying to put off a 2nd knee replacement.

Ok Rant over!! Stay warm all you southern guys!!

RidgeRunner 02-10-2015 07:43 AM

Hang in there MJ. Way to keep your spirits up, that is inspiring in so many ways. You got a PM coming.
Holy Ch!t Us guys in the south are, well, kinda soft. I mean I slept in until I had about 45 minutes before I felt the need to show to work. No shovelling, not even sure I spelt it right...
My biggest problem this morning is trying to get in touch with a neighbor I never met to retrieve a kids toy quadcopter that got away last evening... flying after the rain, in shorts and a t-shirt, unaware of the goin-ons up your way. You are getting hammered! How's the Jersey crew holding up? Long Island?

Destroyer 02-10-2015 10:29 AM

The Jersey crew is holding their own. We haven't gotten near as much as the the poor bastardos from Mass. We have about a foot total of snow on the ground. (A little more, a little less depending on your location) but the streets are clear and we haven't had to lift a shovel for the last week or so. Most of the storms that have hammered Mass have either missed us, dusted us or been rain instead of snow. Considering how it might have been, I'm not complaining one bit.

macojoe 02-10-2015 10:56 AM

got another 4" last night just to piss us off! good news no snow now till thur. then a break till sunday when they say it might be another big one??
But I got the car out, so thats a load off!!
ck pm's now thanks guys!!

Stinky_Hooker 02-12-2015 07:51 AM

Its chilly here in the mornings but I was wearing shorts saturday and Sunday after mid morning. Youre welcome.

phatdaddy 02-12-2015 08:26 AM

Stinky_Hooker 02-12-2015 09:38 AM

Yall know how I "winterize" my boat down here?

I trim the motor down about December .... Just in case. :you:

THEFERMANATOR 02-12-2015 10:28 AM

Whats this winterizing? Is that when you put sweatpants and sweatshirts in the boat because it's chilly in the morning fishing?

Destroyer 02-13-2015 04:09 AM

Hang onto your jockstrap MJ...You got another one boiling in on this weekend...and it looks like a bada$$. Sorry bro... :(

macojoe 02-13-2015 04:32 AM

Ya I been watching it, look like another big one! The good news is that someone donated me enough to get 100 gal of oil, got it yesterday!! I now have enough to make it thur this next mess!!
So to that person, Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
Now come on summer! skip the crapy spring we always get and go to summer!!

Pollen started a few days ago. At first I thought my truck was just dusty. Wont be too much longer y'all.

cfelton 02-15-2015 09:03 AM

Man, I feel sorry for you guys up north. It was 14 degrees this morning and the wind blowing about 40 mph. Screw the cold weather, im ready for some spring!

macojoe 02-15-2015 06:48 PM

18" more snow last night! Wind to 60 mph. They say we are getting more snow tuesday, and will need to shovel it! I have lost count of whats on the ground, but my bushes have to be under at least 2 feet and they are 3 foot high. Going to -5 tonight and 0 to -5 the next few night with the high temps for thje day single to low teens all week. They say next saturxay looks to get up to the 30's but we will see.
My nephew came up yesterday and did my roof, not that you can tell today!

phatdaddy 02-15-2015 07:23 PM

inaforty 02-15-2015 10:58 PM

I'll try my best to behave.

smokeonthewater 02-16-2015 12:06 AM

Yep. I have a friend that lives in Tenn, and she said they are supposed to get about the same from the same storm... Batten down the hatches...... Here we blow again....

inaforty 02-16-2015 10:31 AM

Tough for you folks down in KY.
I would imagine the state of KY doesn't spend $$ on snow removal equipment for and occasional storm.

We got 22" of snow yesterday.

Somewhere under there is my Tundra.

Running out of places to put the snow.

THAT'S exactly what I was worried about... I have to get a 38' fifth wheel out of the driveway in a couple days which requires swinging out through the yard to make the turn..... big snow piles or drifts would be hell on the trailer.... THANKFULLY it looks like they over estimated our local impact... both north and south got more but here I'd say we only have 6-8" so far... no drifting YET anyhow.... so far it's a wet snow so with -9 forcasted for a low tonight it should freeze and stay put.....

I've seen LOTS of snow in my past when I lived in the boonies an hour west of Cleveland OH..... We would get lake effect snow and I can remember busting through and getting stuck in 10' drifts in my old suburban.... 42" tires, snow chains and 13" of lift.... There were days when we would get together with 5 big trucks and work together to get to someone's house n get em in to town because the power was out.....

The biggest truck, usually me, would hit the drift WOT at 60 mph dragging straps behind and then a couple others work together to drag it out, hit it again etc..... sometimes it took a couple hours to go a mile... sometimes we just couldn't get through.

We had snowmobiles but you can't hardly haul a family of five and their pets w a couple sleds lol.

I remember once I was ripping down the road or about where I thought the road was on my snowmobile and all of a sudden I was launched 8' in the air n wiped out.... got gathered up and went back to find I had hit a buried car under the snow..... spent half an hour digging it out enough to see there was nobody in it and went on....

A few years ago I was pulling a 40' trailer through Sioux Falls and they closed the roads so I had to pull into a truck stop.... leaned the seat back n went to sleep... woke up around noon and it was pitch black still.... couldn't open the door but was hearing banging on truck.... 15 min later a HUGE snowthrower on a HUGE articulated tractor cut a path a foot from the side of the truck.... I got out and there was an honest 3' of fresh snow on top of the truck.... the banging turned out to be a guy w snow shoes and a long pole marking the locations of all the buried vehicles so the tractors could dig em out.....

Yeah snow SUX... I REALLY feel for you guys that are getting hammered..... Heard reports of roofs falling in in Boston..... Batten down those hatches boys.....

RidgeRunner 02-17-2015 08:01 AM

Jup, I heard reports of sidewalks covered in 6' in New Bedford, MA. It ain't melting and it is starting to pile up. Get out of there...
