After 23 years of fresh water use my v20 will be moving to Florida next week.

don't forget to flush
get ready to buy new leaf springs every 3 to 4 years

Just buy it, that's a nice boat. Good luck on your upcoming move to Fla. Lots of good ppl down there are on this site. Where were those pics taken of the boat? I don't recognize the lake or the buildings in the background, but it sure looks nice. Again, happy trails to you with your move.

Will surely flush. No worry on the trailer as it will be sold as soon as the boat hits the water. Boat will be kept on a lift. Pictures were taken this August on the upper Niagara River near Grand Island NY between Pirates Island and Strawberry Island. The building in the background is the Niagara Mohawk Huntley Power Plant.

Good luck with the move.
You will certainly be able to enjoy your boat more of the year in FL.
Nice looking V!

What part of Florida are you moving to?

Just Buy It 11-25-2014 03:54 PM

Moving the boat to Naples/Marco Island area.
If anyone knows a good outboard mechanic in this area, please let me know. THANKS

phatdaddy 11-25-2014 04:40 PM

not so sure i'd get rid of the trailer so soon. lotta good boating to trailer to from that area. also might help to take it to the mech rather than him coming to you, save money & time

Stinky_Hooker 11-25-2014 06:22 PM

Put some vinyl gloves on and COAT your leafsprings and axle/axles in grease. Thank me later. Repeat every year amd never buy them again. Grease is alot cheaper than trailer parts.

Thanks for the advice on the trailer, but I will be selling it as I do not have a vehicle to pull it, or a place to store it. It's currently listed on Fort Myers Craigslist. Fortunately, I will have the boat about four feet above the water on a lift.

THEFERMANATOR 11-26-2014 01:53 AM

KEEP the trailer, you will thank us later. Storms do kick up down there, and it is nice to be able to trailer your boat to get it to safety. Even if you have to rent a truck to do it, it's better than not having it. Don't know of naybody offhand as that area is 3 hours away from me.

phatdaddy 11-26-2014 08:10 AM

first time a cat 3-4 rolls through, you'll find that 4 ft is not quite the safety margin you thought it was.

i understand it's no good to you if you have no way to store it or pull it, but it will be an invaluable asset one day.

welcome to the sunshine state

You'll need that trailer again. See if you can make friends with a good ol' boy and keep the trailer at his place.

Like Phat said too, you can take her to the Keys, the east coast, etc. within a short drive from there.

I'm going down from Ct. to look around Pine Island for a winter home.
Great area. I watch videos of the tarpon fishing and can wait to give it a try.
Good luck.
