what other companies make or made a hull like a whaler? McKee? Carolina skiff? wahoo? maritime skiff?

sorry, I had Wahoo on my mind, I meant to say Scout boats are also foam filled. The tend to have more storage internally because they aren't completely foam filled, the have an inner liner that sandwiches the foam between it and the hull, then they have a deck cap that allows them to have storage compartments. They are built about 20 miles from me

I did some work years back on a 16 SCOUT, what a nice little boat. It rode NICE for only being 16 feet, but still ran pretty shallow. And the 40HP YAMAHA pushed it across the water at a good clip while sipping fuel.

Some of those old foam hulls can absorb water and add to their weight. Just be sure your CRV can tow it.
