I think I'm gonna listen to BGreene and rethink my pricing strategy.

I am not familiar with this site, so forgive me if I post wrong or something. I cannot see a price on your boat. It looks great. My boat is a 1987, but you'd never know it. It is in great shape. the hull is strong and will last another decade as is with no problems. It comes with a double bimini, tent, full mooring cover and an aluminum trailer. I think my price is fair, but all sales are up for negotiation. My boat is not a "project" boat.

I am still curious about the price of your boat tho.

phatdaddy 09-18-2014 11:25 AM

oakster, your certainly welcome to sell for what you believe the fair price is, but $8000 for a 27 year old hull with original power & admitted "soft spots" and transom issues is a little sporty. not saying you won't get it and i hope you do, it would raise the bar for all our boats.

bradford was referring to bgreenes belief that his is a $100,000 boat, but i'm sure that is up for negotiation.

Well, I must agree with you... It definitely sounds "sporty" and what's the old saying? An item is worth whatever you can sell it for. Honestly, if you knew the boat, you would see the condition and perhaps understand my price. The soft spots I spoke of are minor, I was just giving a full disclosure. And about the transom, well, there is an aluminum strip at the top that is showing the beginning signs of blistering. I have to agree about the motor, it is original to the boat but that darn thing just keeps on going. I had to include in the price the full mooring cover, the full tent which was pricey and also the double Bimini.... along with the aluminum trailer. Remembering that all sales are up for negotiation. Too bad this hull isn't being made today. In my opinion, it is the best hull out there.

It is still built today. DUSKY builds the 203 which is the same hull from the gunnell down. They use a more utilitarian liner for the inside, and don't offer a cuddy like the v20 had, but it's the same basic hull.

Dusky 203

I did a google search for images on the Dusky 203 and I am afraid I will have to disagree with you. Not near the flair as the Wellcraft step V. But close.

They're built using an old WELLCRAFT mold from the 70's, so there pretty close. DUSKY even admitted as much several years back it was an old WELLCRAFT mold that they used. And the 233 is a bigger version of the V-20.

If I went bigger it would be one of those 233 Duskys.

Same here. No nonsense feeshing machines. G all the stuff you need for fishing, and none of that stuff you don't. Also laid out with fishing in mind.

phatdaddy 10-02-2014 07:31 AM

the only issue i have heard of is the fiberglass fuel tanks 0n the earlier duskys.

My buddy had one.....They did remarkably well in a head sea but did not like a following swell near as much as my mid-80's F20 does. Loved the boat though

8. Grand. That's so good price to me. People who thinks it's a lot should go on another boat that's newer and will agree with me. The steplift is worth ever penny of 8. Grand. I personally think it should go for. A little more money. Like 10. But that's just my opinion. Nice hull. Great looking boat. Fantastic ride.

bgreene 02-03-2015 05:48 PM

$ 25,000 firm should be the price............and it would sell within hours !!

IF it's in perfect condition.
