What did you think of the Olympics?

Not who won what, but the TV coverage.

I was not impressed with the coverage, seems like last Olympics you could choose between 4 or 5 different channels and find something you wanted to watch, this time it was one channel at a time and half of the primetime hours were filled with human interest stories.

Just wondering what yall thought of it.

I avoid NBC like the plague. That being said, it was the only game in town, so I was forced to watch one of their channels. While I understand that there's only so much they can show, I have to agree that I thought the coverage was spotty to say the least.

Yea the stories were a bit long winded......

I can't watch anything with Johnny Weir in it without busting out laughing.

not only that, they showed very few medal ceremonies. and yes, I thought some of the human interest stories went a bit long.

Curling is not a sport.

I noticed this, too. Hardly saw any.

Don't forget that during the opening ceremonies NBC glossed over communism in the USSR as "one of modern history's pivotal experiments.

The coverage was total B.S it reminded me of groundhog day same thing over and over and over every channel. What a shame for the athletes work that hard to hit the big stage for everyone to see and nuttin.

I'd be willing to bet that curling was probably invented by a bunch of guys that were cooped up in a bar drinking and one day they decided to go outside and see if they could use rocks on ice like a summer Boccie Ball court.

Now I'm probably wrong, but it just seems to fit.

Big Time!!!
Curling is a pretty big game up here (imagine that another one on ice) and seams to be very popular with the beers. I spent many hours watching my parents playing after my hockey games or practices. The rinks use the same parking lot in my home town a pretty good childhood memory spent there.

The flip side I got to admit when some of the women's teams are playing :oh: sweep HARDER SWEEEEEP!!!!

Molson used to make an Ale called Molson's Golden Cream Ale that was absolutely the best I ever tasted... and then they stopped making it for some unknown silly reason. Now they make Molson's Golden beer, which is good, but nothing like their cream ale. Man I wish they would bring it back.

If you look back at the origins of the game I believe the first use of the broom was for the broken beer bottles on the ice. The drunks then realized the rocks reacted differently when going over a freshly swept area. LOL
