Interesting Rebuild Thread @ THT |
 omg $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |
great thread!!! Some of the comments are great examples of the stupid on THT, too many self proclaimed experts, the main reason I don't go over there any more. " was the block marinized by Dart?" :you: "you could have bought a nicer boat with better electronics for what you have in that Wellcraft" :you: "that hull starts to chine walk in the upper 40's" :you: you would have thought it was a Boston Whaler thread Big props to the guy building the boat, looks like he knows what he's doing and has the tools to do it:clap: |

Interesting I believe UBHSTRY is from around his town of Pittsburgh PA and has or had a similar setup with about $90000.00 less. Looks like we should have V-20 rally and see how fast they could gooooooooooo! :fight: |
I feel a lot better now seeing what some one else has spent. :oh: |
I sent him a PM inviting him for come over and join us. He's obviously as crazy as we are. But I love what he's doing to that boat. Just wish I had that kind of dough to spend on mine. Yes, I'm jealous. |
That guy has a serious toy issue nice ski boat in the back ground racing quad in the motor pic. I wonder if he is in need of a son in law or a new best friend The V-20 does look slick!!! |
I remember that one being posted here for sale before he bought it. |
Pretty cool. I agree on the THT nitwit comments, "lighten up Francis"...... Only thing I saw that I thought was overkill was that wiring. Good lord!!! Thats pretty intense!! |

MAN! There's no telling what he's got tied up in that thing. Pretty slick wiring job though. Aussie and that guy need to hook up! Maybe I ought ta snatch that drag motor outa that 68 camaro I've got and drop it in my V! Nope, I dont need to go that fast! |
what kind of darg car ya got there CFelton? |
Spare, its an old 68 camaro I bought 30 years ago. It was a 10 second trophy winner for the last owner. I bought the bare body and rearend, dropped in a four speed Muncie and built a 375 Targetmaster up for bracket racing. I ran it a few times at Suffolk Raceway in Va. before it closed. Its been parked for the last few years, use to take it around the block but the neighbors called the law so much I stopped doing that. I crank it up occasionaly just to wake the neighborhood up. Straight headers sound really nasty!! |
CFelton- "Don't need to go that fast." How'd you end up with a 10 second drag car? LOL! Love the old 67-69 Camaro, open headers and the idea of a 0530 Sunday morning wake-up calls for PITA neighbors. |

I had a 67 when I was 17, put it in a bridge rail and destroyed the front end. I started rebuilding it and had grand visions of big block prostreet excess. Never finished it, sold it off in pieces. The guy I worked for in high school had a 68 RS that we ran in IHRA F/PS then later in H/S. Car ran 13.12 as a pure stock, 11.50's as a stocker. He never got far with the car but it was a very nice car. We ran at Roxboro, NC. We ran at Rockingham a couple times for the big race but went out first round. |

Yep! A good friend has a 67 that he restored and its really sharp, auto tranny and a built 327, looks brand new. I have hopes of restoring mine one day. Its a RS/SS so I was told. Has the original dash with a factory tach. I bought it from a guy that needed money really bad. He cried like a baby when I took it away! He ran a body shop and got the car in wrecked. It was hit on the riders side quarter panel. He fixed it and the owner never paid for the work. So, he kept it and stripped it down and made a drag car out of it. I don't have a title for it but I think I can get a lost or stolen replacement title now. Its in pretty rough shape now but I can get all the replacement parts for it pretty easy. My neighbor runs a bodyshop and asks me all the time when we're gonna start on it. Guess I'll get to it one day! |

Oh Ridge , I use to love runnin 130 mph, but I got married and with kids and grand kids I guess I got old! HaHa! Still love that feeling of torque and raw power laying you back in the seat. I use to could tote the front wheels through 3rd gear. That will plaster a smile across your face!! When I get the V out I enjoy the smooth ride, so I usually just get up on plane and cruise along at a leisurely speed. Guess I'm gettin old! LOL!! |

Suffolk Raceway , WOW I remember setting my first NHRA record their back in 1970 or so with a 1964 Plymouth 426 wedge ramcharger motor in C/SA. I think it was around 120mph. That was division 2 record runs. My division was division 1. Warren & Registra a tobacco framer back then also setting record with a chevy Camaro. Along with other's. Any body remember the early 70's in NHRA racing. My car was called the Pink Panther. Also competed in the First Gator nationals in Gains ville FL FL |

I've got a 7 second door car out in the shop, but I will be putting it up for sale here soon. It was my dad's before he died, and I just don't have the money for it. I've held onto it for a long time now hoping maybe one day I could run it again, but I have finally realized that will probably never happen with my health as it is now. If I want to go fast now, I can load up the whole family in the BURB and boogy(the limiter is set to 120 in it, and it will easily hit it). |
