Cold, snowy January here in N Jersey
About 3 degrees below average so far this Jan at 29 vs 33 average......
That average temp may fall based on colder air next week, and snowfall well above average too. Still, not nearly as cold as winter of 1976-77 when the avg January temp was 19 degrees. My parents saved the Time Magazine from that month........the cover headline was " DEEP FREEZE ". Arctic air continued to slide down across much of the USA, and snow was reported in Florida. |
No better here in MA. I can't wait till spring!

It snowed here in North Carolina last Wednesday. We got around two inches and its been in the teens and twentys since so the snow is still hanging around. We haven't had a really big snow since 1980. We usually get a few inches a year and thats a plenty for me. I'm ready for some spring weather myself!!

It has been cold...for the first time in many years the ponds are starting to freeze over...just a matter of time until people start thinking they can walk on the ice and falling through.
I too, am ready for spring. |

Hang on because it aint over yet. Southern states are under a hard freeze warning for tonight and tomorrow. They are predicting ice and snow in southern GA, Charleston, Savannah, etc. Somebody, Anybody up in the North Country do us a solid and close the freezer door already... By SuperBowl Sunday it is predicted to be in the 80's again for much of FL. :sly::party:

Thats funny Lumber!! Last week we wound up with about 10 inches of snow. Thats enough ta last me till next winter. Suppose to get to 63 degrees tommorrow with rain. I'm really ready for winter to be over!

Well, yesterday I removed 6+ inches of snow from our driveway and front walkway. Today was nice, temp actually hit 33F. Tonight (Wed morning) we're supposed to get hit with 6-8 inches of snow followed by up to a quarter of an inch of ice on top of it. Oh, did I mention that we're also supposed to get hit with a Nor'easter this Sunday/Monday? I'm in complete agreement with Lumberslinger. I mean, who wants warm, tropical nights and hot sunny days filled with bikini clad young ladies on the beaches when you can have sleet, snow, ice and slush every 3 to 4 days?

I love the gulf coast of Alabama more and more every time I read post from you guys up in the snow LOL
