Undercover brother.. Funny as heck when I broke my leg I watched it every single day for 12 weeks. It was therapy.

I'm highjacking your thread now. Whats the best alternative going for cable/sat TV. I've been reading about Chromecast, but I know nothing about streaming. What options are working for ya'll?

RidgeRunner 01-09-2014 07:35 AM

? Never heard of it. Subscribed..

phatdaddy 01-09-2014 08:11 AM

spare, i have a "smart" tv, so i get netflix directly on the set. i also have chromecast. this allows you to stream from your laptop, pc,ipad to your set. so far, all i can get to cast is youtube & netflix. i think hulu and other tv sites will cast also.

i would also like to get off the cable bill also, but sports, weather, and local news stll make them a neccessity.

My kids watched every episode of The Office, back to back to back.

I have a ROKU,works great, netflix and hundreds of other channels, got rid of cable and built and hd antenna for about $5 and get around 20 channels on it,about 12 in hd

macojoe 01-09-2014 08:20 PM

I don't even have cable! I watch the news and stuff on the puter when i can get online stealing signal from people next door, but they shut there router off when they shut there puter off so i get it when i can.

For netflix binge watching I suggest Breaking Bad and Justified. Walking Dead too if you can stomach it. Far cry from Emergency and Adam 12.

phatdaddy 01-10-2014 08:07 AM

we've watched those when they came out, new season of justified started last week.
along those lines, have you watched dexter , the killing, or the following?

The Following I watched when aired....liked it...never heard of the other two but just looked them up on Netflix.....looks like I got me some binge watching to do.

I was also going to recommend BB. Great show that you need to watch in order from the beginning...maybe not if your son is very young.

i've also got into the "Prime Suspect" series with helen mirren(sp?). little hard to understand with british dialect and slang, but good to watch. they are about 1h50m, so gotta have time to watchi it.

kinda funny, you can date a show by the type of cell phone they use.

For those that use NETFLIX. this site is a must have http://instantwatcher.com/titles/visual?infinite=1 . It lists all the new movies in order that NETFLIX adds. I check it once or twice a week for new shows and movies. It is a PITA to search on NETFLIX, but this is a cake walk and lets me keep up with the good movies.
