So in post V20 life, if there is such a thing, my second (and smarter) wife decided we needed a bigger boat. We picked up and fish a Proline 231 for the last five years.

Elaine recently made the proclamation that "we need a bigger boat." Me being the good husband, olbliged as quickly as possible. The next chapter has begun, and our Worldcat 266SC is the parchment that we will record the coming chapters of our story on...:nice:

MIA from time to time...

cterrebonne 11-05-2013 01:01 PM

nice cat, make sure you post up some after action reports from using her in some nice seas.
Those honda's are some really efficient and reliable engines.

Blue_Runner 11-05-2013 04:17 PM

You may be MIA for periods but we ain't forgot about ya!

Better hang on tight....wife #2 sounds like a keeper! Pretty boat. Need more pictures and don't forget the reports!

Airslot 11-07-2013 06:26 AM

Yeah, she's a keeper.

This loss of daylight is cramping my style. No time this weekend, but Tog season is just getting going. Got three bushels of green crabs ready, willing, and waiting. Bring fall on. Ocean rock is just a few weeks away.

Airslot, giant air slot right down the middle of this one. Nice boat! Big step from the Proline. We need to get our wives together. :haha:

Nice Boat! They are really tough boats, I see alot of them around the Outer Banks. Good luck with the new boat.

So far we've got about 10 hours running time and one fishing trip on her. I've been fortunate to put in alot of hours on two friends cats over the past five years, so we knew exactly what we were getting into.

Our first fishing trip was for Tog at a nearshore wreck. We were all pumped for the maiden voyage, but a little concerned as the forecast suxed, SCA and 4-5 for three days. With the winds being out of the west we thought there was a chance that it'd be fishable if we stayed within five miles of the beach, and we were right. Nice 3-4, not to tight, and a comfortable ride at 23-ish kts.

All of our other trips have been sandbar and / or dinner runs in 20-25mph snot. The boat rides like a dream in the bay in those conditions. The enclosure is warm and dry. The is just big enough for me to stretch out in, even at 6'4". Ole Willy gave me a few pointers for breaking in the cabin...

We've been very blessed in many ways over the years. I got royally screwed last January at work. Turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me :news:

As with any new-used boat, I've got a pile of projects to get her where I want her. The good news is she's fish ready now. Elaine is already asking "where are we fishing next weekend"
