My V20 is for sale
 

Well guys I have made a decision...I am getting rid of her. There have been some recent personal financial issues arise and I am probably going to sell the 20 and just keep the 18. In addition to this I have become more and more interested in inshore fishing rather than offshore. I will still offshore fish from time to time, but I can do this fine in my 18 as I do already. Additionally the few times per year that I will be venturing offshore just dont justify restoring the v20. They are fine boats, but to be honest not optimum for the type of inshore fishing I will be doing. I need something with more walk around room up front and possibly even a trolling motor. My plans are to enclose the transom on the 18 and use my bracket on it. I will probably also add a T-top later on when finances allow. The way I see it is I can do a few things to the 18 and make it more comfy for offshore and even better for inshore, yet have a lighter, more fuel efficient craft.


If anyone is interested in a good hull for restoration let me know. The way she sits right now is with fresh paint on the bottom and I have started on the transom enclosure. It is just a stripped hull and trailer. The trailer has fresh galvanize on it and new bunks/rollers/padding as well. The only thing wrong with the trailer is it only has one of the two axles. The axle is not in great shape so I am not sure what kinda road trip it could make. I was going to replace both axles with new heavier duty ones, but just havent gotten around to it. If anyone wants more specific pictures let me know, but you can also look at my gallery.

stinky, does that mean no more videos....? All kidding aside, sorry to hear that you've got to bail out of your project.You still have the 18' so you're still boating and fishing. Good luck.

oh I aint goin nowhere guys....I just gotta get some financial things straightened out so I can retire and be a weird, but happy old man.

I guess with a 29" bracket on the 18 it'll be a V20...sorta. ::)

Man Stink I'm sorry to hear you're selling your baby. I'll be selling mine soon too :-/ I'm looking at a new house so i need money more than the boat. I know where you're coming from Stink. Call me we'll cry together over a beer. :-[

Franco I am hopefully going to get down there for my 10th anniversary and I would love to get up with you then. She wants to go to Disney then....its in 2 more years

Stink my 10 year is this year and my wife is planning on going down to Disney in a month or two. Its really not for our anniversary - like any money spending female, she still wants to do something else for our anniversary too! ::)

Where's all this $$ gonna come from ??? I guess she has a plan :-/ Plus, if I say something about it she'll throw my fishin trips up in my face, so I'm keeping my mouth shut :-X

10 years!! Wow to be young again!! Feb. was 25 years for me :o

we went 2 or 3 years ago to CA Disney, 6 flags, universal, hollywood, Santa monica peir, SM promanad, Malibu beach, ect ect

If I never see another amussment park it will be to soon!!

No boat will do everything and if I could get by with just one then it would be my little v 20 . Its cheap to run, Its great for the shallow North Carolina sounds and marshes as well as windy neuse river sea duck hunts in january etc and I can even pole it in and out of some of my puppy drum holes that only flats boats can get in. On the other hand, It is not designed ( In my opinion) for 40 mile trips to the the deep ocean drop offs or 4 footers all day but it is the best of its kind and I've had albemarles , Gradys and whalers and none of them ride or cut through the slop like the v 20 without getting you wet, especially the whaler. The good thing about the V20 is that they are everywhere and some are very cheap. I would be willing to bet that some of the guys selling them will buy another one sometime down the line, I know I did. Frank
