no place for a boat. . . .
this sh!thole city i live in, you cant keep a boat in your driveway. we live on a sandbar, a boating community with hundreds of boats in driveways but i have this piece of sh!t neighbor and she doesnt like my boat in my driveway. incredibly, a few days later an anonamous driverby complained about my boat. i was issued a violation and when nothing came of it another anonamous driverby made the same complaint. there are no marinas in long beach but we do have two boat ramps. why do we need two boat ramps if we cant have a boat in our own driveway, you ask? i wish i knew. i phukking hate neighbors, useless pieces of sh!t. neighbor on the other side, only time he ever talks to me, he begins the sentence with "hey, can you do me a favor"? otherwise he turns his head away when he sees me. punk a$$ b!tch. nieghbors blow.
wish i was a lawyer because i just dont understand the city ordinances. phukking hate this b!tch. |
Thats B.S. it's your home ,you pay the taxes , ect. ect. Call you congressman or start a legal motion to change the ordiance . I feel bad for you that SUCKS !!
there is a reason I have an 8 ft fence around my back yard, it doesn't hurt that I'm the vice president on the HOA as well, that whole fox in the hen house thing
grey, problem is we're a city and the city politicians are so corrupt it's not even funny. i live in the single highest taxed county in the united states of america. they brought in a city manager who didnt even live in our city, he raised taxes 23% overnight and resigned the next day. this place sucks.
Sounds like you need a u haul and a travel guide
If you were closer, you could park in my yard. I love being in the country. No one tells me what I can or can't have in my yard, except my wife.
well, just sent off emails to my local assemblyman, two senators and our governor. i'm sure nothing will come of it but i'm prepared to fight the good fight. if i dont hear anything back i'm gonna start contacting other boat owners with boats in their driveways. now i'm pissed.
well that sucks! But it does raise another question; Whatcha got Chuck? You're holding out on us.
nah chum, about to pull the trigger on a couple kayaks for me and my little guy but i found a cute little 15 foot center console for about the same price. wife wont let me get into another boat if it's just gonna end with building violations. that's the only reason i sold the V in the first place..... they were threatening with daily fines. phukkin' city is a real corrupt little sh!thole. cant wait to get the phuk out.
It's ,all politics. just not wright . time for a gun rally !!
I really am not sure why people live in those places. I mean, really, what you pay for a place in the rat infested city, (meaning the corrupt people), you could live someplace so much better.
Good luck with it, but I think the best advice was rent a uhaul and get the hell out of there. |
Town I was brought up in, you could not park a boat or RV in your driveway because it might be an "eyesore" to neighbors... BUT they would allow you to park in your own fukin driveway if you paid them $25 for a license, parked behind the front of your home and hid your boat with a fence across the driveway. Ask them if that will be ok Charlie. There might be some kind of rule or regulation stipulating how you can keep a boat on your property.
You should try living in the south and have some uppity volvo driving snowbird yankees move in across the fence from you whose barkingass dogs go nuts every time you take a piss outside in the same spot you've been pissing for years.
"Sir, all that stuff in your yard wrecks our view". "How many vehicles do you own?!" |

my subdivision has an HOA and you cannot park boats in the drive way, but you can park old POS cars in the drive way.
Our Chitty has much the same rules and regulations. I got a nosy neighbor or two that turns me into code enforcement on a routine basis. I made a small sign that I place on the boat trailer every time the boat is in the driveway. It reads " This vessel is parked on our property and is being prepared for a journey. If you don't like it you can either:
1. Learn to live with it and mind your own business or 2. Call code enforcement again" and I cite the phone number for code enforcement. Signed ES&D. Thing is, I could park it in the street with a vehicle hooked to it and they could do nothing about it. Meanwhile I have a neighbor on port side that allows their old used junk to pile up in their yard (I count one used mower, a new mower box, two childrens bicycles, a goal post for a toddler, various wood scraps and building supplies, etc. and on the starboard a old widow lady that has a blue LTD from 1976 parked in the carport, despite being painted within the past 2 years, it is nearly green from algae growth and she has not bothered to maintain the exterior of her home since 1965 when it was built.. BUT my boat is an eyesore? Do the letters FO mean anything to you? Yeah, I am still pissed about it so I feel for you my V-20 bretheren. |
Whoo boy... how do I go on...
I have my do on a wire run. I can see worms or eggs in her stool where she craps so after three vet visits the doc does some extra expensive test and tells me this ain't your dogs crap. Turns out the neighbor is locking his dogs out of HER fenced in yard so they can do their dooty on mine. When I bring this to her attention all of a sudden she has a problem with my boats, cars, etc... She had her grey haired over the hill wannbe biker dad come by with his POS Harley and start revving it on a Sunday AM. Not that I am trying to make her life miserable or anything but having moved my boat with the 225HP Yammie, a 26' Searay with a 454, a trailer with a couple of 2-stroke snowmobiles, and a newly constructed CHIKKEN KOOP! to within the legal limit of the property line all I can say is BRING IT ON. |

Charlie just stick around and things will get better. Eventually all those people that are causing you all this grief will move down here and tell all of us living in the Mid-South how "they did it up North."

Bull crap like that is one of the many reasons I moved to the south. The Northeast is too full of lawyers and litigious asshats for it to ever be habitable by normal people again.
