trim tabs
2 Attachment(s)
so here is my question, what do I use. I have the up up and down for drive. I look to have two from my trim tabs... as you can tell I have a new camera and now know how to post pictures,, feel free to tell me if I get to much.. LOL
|
One is probably hooked up and the other is not.
|
I've got the joy stick w/mine...but don't know how it works cuz my motors shot...:head:
I think Genie's right..hard to believe they both hooked up...can you look behind where they are mounted? |
Joystick for outdrive, buttons for left tab & right tab? Just a guess since we don't know where they are hooked to, but it would make sense that way.
OR Old set of tabs had the buttons and a new set of tabs had the joystick, and the previous owner didn't want a hole in the dash so he just left the buttons there, disconnected. |
Might as well round it out... My guess is that they're BOTH connected and you can use whichever you feel like at the time
|
and i'll raise you , neither is connected.

turns out the switch(s) are bad and I have removed both. I am unable to order the same type, joy stick or 4 button. So I have ordered a rocker switch.... So here's my question, as the switch is different will this be a big deal converting from old to new. I have two tabs on the stern. Five wires, one for ground and the other 4 are split off to each trim tab. Two for starboard and two for port, up and down,,, can't be that simple.

so you have lenco tabs... are you SURE the switches are the prob.... the electric actuators on the lenco systems were problematic and prone to fail
|
BTW you are a lake/river boater right? look up nauticus smart tabs (http://www.nauticusinc.com)
They make a conversion that uses your planes and hinges and just adds the automatic actuator... these work AWESOME.... |
