we lost NJ

California, New York, Colorado, and i guess we lost New Jersey as well
http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/c...PM&T=S&S=0&F=0
looks like they all passed

Destroyer 02-21-2013 10:40 PM

Well, NJ being a heavily democratic state, it was almost a foregone conclusion that they would pass such stupidity. At least ONE law, however, was passed that I'm happy to see.

Bill A3788 makes it illegal for anyone to have access to the names and addresses of gun owners. It specifically mentions the case in NY where a newspaper published the names and addresses of gun owners, obtained under the freedom of information act, making them at risk for theft, etc. This bill stops that from being able to happen in NJ, and that's a good thing.

It is still being fought, we won't go down without one. Still got to get past full house and senate along with Christie signing it.
He knows if he does he can kiss any national campaign good bye.
I have been contacting his office along with my other reps.

i think Christie is going to fold on this one, he's been kissing way too much liberal *** lately

Correct, at this point they are only bills. And on a side note I thought that almost all of them were already laws.

RW, you're correct. If you read the bills, a lot of them are just add-ons to already existing laws that just expand on what we cannot have or do.

I find it incredible for instance, that we're not legally allowed to possess police style billy clubs, yet we can have fish billys, aluminum baseball bats, axe handles, sticks and just about everything else you can think of .... but a billy is illegal. WHY?? Same with handcuffs, you cannot own them either, but you can own rope, nylon zip ties, wire, etc..... all of which will do exactly the same thing. Ditto knives... you can't own a stilleto style knife, but my razor sharp Buck knive with a bigger blade is fine... What I'm trying to say is that a lot of existing laws make absolutely no sense at all... and they are written by people that are supposed to be smarter and know what's better for us than we do. ... Oh, and slingshots are illegal, but bows and arrows are fine!!! :oh:

Illegal to ride in an automobile without a seatbelt but hop on a motorcycle - no seatbelt, no problem! LOL

:haha: Ya, but at least you don't have to wear a helmet in an automobile. (yet)

the bills in congress are dying a slow death(they will surely reappear tagged onto some feel good legislation), but Colorado is now Commifornia East

tsubaki 03-20-2013 06:51 PM

Word is there was never a real national attempt to ban stuff, they knew it wouldn't pass. It was intended to be planned to come through the states legislature.

I disagree, if they could have pulled it off , they would have done it, I don't think they were expecting the resistance they got from voters. They thought it would have been a sure thing in the wake of the mass killings, if I hear one more politician say its for the children, i'm gonna puke. Keep your head up, its not over, they will try to sneak it in along with some other bill

Destroyer 03-22-2013 09:21 PM

Actually, I think what they are going to do next is try to approve the UN gun ban treaty. Since it's a treaty we'll be legally obliged to follow it. They get their gun ban without a Constitutional fight. The TRAITOR John Kerry has already voiced his approval and support of the treaty. :cen: (It's a sad comment on the state of our Country's leaders when we have a traitor as the Sec of State.... and with the approval of both sides of the congress)

No offense to those V20 brothers who are exiled there, but I think NJ was lost a long time ago.

Christie just signed off on some anti gun bills, hope he wasn't planning on running for president next time around

I'll bet his security team is well armed and with hollow point ammo.
