Re: Bracket on eBay

Hey guys, do any of you happen to know if this bracket would fit nicely on a V20? I realize that the transoms for each make and model are different and therefore a bracket that fits on one boat won't necessarily fit on my V20. I just thought I would check to see if any of you happen to know off hand whether or not this bracket would fit a V20.

Maco, didn't you use a bracket that didn't fit quite perfectly? Would you have done things differently now that you've lived with it for some time? Just curious...

Go to http://www.greatgrady.com/forum/index.php and ask what the angle of the transom is on the Gulfstream. *If it's the same it should be a good fit, and if it's not, I think you can customize it (wedges) to make it fit. *MJ, didn't you do that?

Re: Bracket on eBay

I think the V20 has a 13* transom angle. Here's a thread on it but never really answered. You can see how to measure the transom angle for yourself.

Tin,

Thank you sooooo very much for the response. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into it. I'll try to figure out the degree of my transom tomorrow.

no problem, wasn't much time or effort either :)

Re: Bracket on eBay

I was thinking of a bracket at one time ... so measured the transom angle on my boat - 1988. I believe it measured out at around 11 degrees.

Re: Bracket on eBay

there's a boat close by i think its a GW 20 overnighter and the guy installed a full braket armstrong i think with his cutout transom. have not been on the boat in the water but he's a diver and the access in and out of the boat looks great.

Re: Bracket on eBay

Yeah, didn't know if would work as-is or not, but if the price stays where it is it would be a decent deal -

Oh SNAP! I just realized this is in BC Canada! Bummer! :-[ :'( ::)

Re: Bracket on eBay

BR,

I agree, the price is right.

The ad says that delivery is free to the US and Canada... Am I missing something?

I just emailed the guy. *I noticed that it says free shipping and then at the bottom of the page he says buyer is responsible for shipping... *Must have had a few too many Labatt's while he was placing the ad *::)

Re: Bracket on eBay

Bygrace,

Sometimes eBay shows free ship, when its really not.

Near the bottom it says,

"Seller's payment instructions
Buyer responsible for shipping charges.I will gladly help in any way from my end!Weight is approx.70 lbs."

The only reason I knew to keep looking was from previous eBay experience. Somebody will probably get burned on this!

One thing about eBay - you have to READ EVERYTHING! I know there's some scams out there advertising really cheap new computers and even cars and stuff. When and if you read the fine print, it says the auction is for pictures only of the computer, car or whatever. At the end of the auction, they email you pictures and you get screwed! The bad thing is - its perfectly legal and considered the buyers fault for not reading everything!
