Looks like I'll be making a run up "yonder" really soon... POSSIBLY this coming weekend... While I'm not finished with the truck it IS together and driving.... I've got to get new tires on it and and get the junk out of the back and it's ready. Then I have to get my boat off of the trailer and get the trailer inside for some wheel bearing work... Prolly buy a spare rim and tire for the trailer and then it's up to the weather.

My current plan is to keep and use all of the electronics... If that changes I'll let ya know tho.

It looks like most of the route between here and there (1000 mls) is getting quite a bit of snow this week... I'm not sure how much of an issue that will cause... I'd hate to spend several hours shoveling snow just to be able to load it on the trailer. and drifting highways are always fun...

We only got a light dusting of powdery snow last night. Bright and sunny (but bitter cold) here now.

I guess the storm missed ya.... forecast said 3-5" last night and another inch today.

I hear ya on the cold... it was 9 here last night and up a balmy 15 now...... BIG change from the 60 deg day we saw a week ago

Long range forecast says a bigger storm friday night, so it will probably be nice and sunny.

We have a ship called the Mass just outside Pensacola Pass. It was an accidental sinking. She has taken a few other boats with her turret that is just barely below water. I plan to fish around it on my yak when I get it so I will be in Mass too lol

At this point I'm about 80% sure it won't be this weekend.... The great lakes region looks to be getting HAMMERED and I haven't got my boat off of the trailer yet..... It kind of HAS to be last minute with watching the weather.... I'll know for sure by the end of today but I will most likely be shooting for next weekend now.

We are only suppose to get about 1 to 2 inches, so don't say know because of us!! Just get up here! I had my nails done and everything!!:love:

Cool, next weekend would work better for me as we are going to maine (that big snowstorm earlier predicted is fizzling->out-big surprise).

cleveland had up 18" forecasted through the weekend... syracuse and buffalo looked bad too.... I am definitely not gonna make it for this weekend so It's looking like next weekend now.... MIGHT be putting the truck and trailer inside a nearly empty semi trailer for the ride up... that would save me quite a bit of fuel

I've been pretty concerned about my maypop tires on my boat trailer and today I scored 4 trailer tires n rims same size as on it for $200 so with my old ones as 4 spares I feel more confident now.

I also picked up a new 12 ton bottle jack at HF today to make loading and unloading easier. I think we are gonna be a go for next weekend... Looking forward to having this done and really looking forward to meeting up with you guys.... even MJ... LOL

Just talked to the boat owner... he says next weekend will work for him.

I have my boat off of the trailer... MUCH bigger pain with the side bunks in place than it was last time without them.

I also got a bit more work done on the truck.... tires n wheels will go on the trailer tomorrow while I am doing wheel bearings.

well I went through 2 of my wheel bearings and they are in perfect like new condition tho the seals were badly worn so I picked up 4 of those.... gotta love ezlube spindles. I also pulled the surge brakes off of those two and tossed em ... they were junk and the master was junk too... I have been towing it with no brakes for thousands of miles and I'm tired of it. I ordered 4 dexter electric brake assemblies.... HOPING they make it here thursday so I can be on the road friday morning.

I removed the master cyl, shocks, and etc for the surge breaks and welded the coupler up solid. I installed a break away box and 7 blade rv light cord. I need to pick up and run 50 feet of awg-12 2 conductor for the brakes themselves and wiring will then be done except for connecting the brake assemblies when I get them.
I'm wiring two separate runs so that the right wheels are on one circuit and left on another.... redundancy.....

I'll do the other two bearings when my brakes arrive

So far, still lookin good for this weekend..... how many still lookin to meet up?

Depending what day I am in, Saturday not looking good as I will be closing on the new home at 2 pm then have to take the wife there to see it as I bought it with out her ever seeing it.

Well I'm sitting here waiting on my trailer brakes to show up... then I get to finish the trailer and pull the truck in the shop for a couple of quick things on it and if all goes well I can get to bed early and leave out tomorrow morning....

If all goes well I'm hoping to get in early enough Saturday to load the boat, meet up, and head back out but if I can't get in early enough then I'll have to spend the night and do it Sunday. I had a friend who was gonna come with me but he waffled and now it looks like I'm driving 36 hrs solo.... gonna be a long weekend.

I'll keep this page updated as things progress.

Ok I'm sooooo pissed right now... I got the trailer all done and went to get the truck... it just cranked and wouldn't fire... after half a day of trouble shooting, it looks like my chip wasn't seated properly in the pcm and burned up the eprom! I now have another PCM on the way but it won't be here till monday... That was ANOTHER $200 (just about exactly $4000 now) and ANOTHER delay!
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT

I'm so sorry to keep stringing you guys along.

Next I get to call the seller and tell him I have yet another delay.... ugh!

No problem here. Didn't look like MJ would have been able to meet on Sat anyhow.

well CRAP... I WAS planning on this weekend.... the forecast sure changed ... a day or two ago this weekend looked great..... ugh.

Hey, look at it this way... by the time everything comes together and you make it up here we can probably go striper fishing.

We're getting mixed forecasts for NJ right now.. All agree that a storm is coming,...with snowfall ranging from 2 to 24 inches, depending on who you are listening to. So you guys in Mass. will probably get the same or worse, depending on the storm track. I'm thinking this weekend is a good time to go to your neighborhood pub and swap fishing stories as you sip your favorite adult beverage. :beer:

OK, I'm packed, hooked up and ready... was gonna leave today but he has a funeral tomorrow so I'll be leaving tomorrow some time and planning to load the boat around lunchtime Saturday.

I'm REALLY getting tired of this crap.... 250 miles into the trip I get a check engine light and truck starts running like crap..... Have an electrical issue on number 6 injector of some sort... limped back home..... There goes close to $200 in fuel for nothing! and now I get to fix it again.... good grief what did I do to piss karma off?
