 Found something nice

It is about five hours from me and closer to the right price and set up I think.
In the Richmond VA. area. Anyone know a good surveyor in that area? Take a look, pretty extensive listing with a link to a lot of detailed photos. Any opinions would be appreciated. Research shows a lot of praise. http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sa...maha-f250.html |

Sharp looking boat willy!! Good Luck!

looks like a well cared for rig.

I can't find any one in Richmond to check it out, sorry, I tried. Oddly enough, had we been going on our original plans to the Outerbanks, I could have met you up there and looked at it, oh well!

The only thing that concerns me is there have been no responses to his ad...0...that's a tough crowd over at THT, but to have ZERO responses to a boat like that is curious...and if you couldn't launch the HS by yourself, do you expect to on this, much larger boat?....will you tow this or slip it?...

it would be a rack situation if I do it. a lot of pm'ing goes on over there. boat has been on a lift since new. was his Grandpa's boat, he passed two years ago and left it to him.
He put it on a new trailer and is in a bad finance situation now. |

Have it checked over, but if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate to get it if all checks out. I believe by this time Grady had worked out most of tehre hull ride issues, and you can't beat the 4 stroke YAMAHA. I think the reason he's not get many responses is it's a tough market, and he's asking what it is worth. If it was priced lower the ad would be blown up and sold already.

Having owned a GW I highly recommend it.

The boat looks great but the price is too high IMO. 20 YO boat with an 8 year old motor. He wants to get the money from all his upgrades/maintenance out of it but we all know that just doesn't happen. Like those house shows everybody believes there boat is more special than those around it.
I think that boat would start to grab people's attention at $18,500 and be sold at $17K. $2000 less http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...r-22-100355776 |

Willy. Have you seen this one?

More of a project but still priced right

I looked at that Kamikaze, thanks. I do not like the motor well set up on that which seems to me to be an after thought design. You can barely stand on the sides, no way to fish off the back and it intrudes a lot into the cockpit.
I do like their inboard versions though. Talked with a fellow who owns one. Said it handles the seas well but is a very very wet boat. |

THT Guys gave me a contact for a surveyor in Richmond, left him an email tonight.
I did a lot of searching on this boat. Mostly very good opinions on ride, build, room etc. My main concern will be ensuring the transom is solid, which it should be. And getting the F250 checked for exhaust corrosion and a read out on the computer and compression. Price wise from my discussion with the owner is the 19G range. I think for this area that is a fair price for what has been done. |

 I agree Ferm.
Ferm I know it is mostly the 225 Yamaha that has the exhaust corrosion issues, but it is also the 250, not as frequent for some reason. Is there a way a tech can scope it out without pulling the powerhead off? |

all I can say is I've had to keep a blind eye down here, so many cool boats with for sale signs, lots of turn key set ups, lots of projects with so much potential. I have to keep telling myself, I've got to finish the V, I've got to finish the V....
