A well written piece
This was written by a long time member of the Bass Barn. Thought you guys should see it.
Silencing The Iron Bell......It is finished...... Having spent countless hours, days, weeks and months of my life. Money and time that I wanted to devote to other things like fishing or other fun things with my wife and children. Even the loss of friendships. All this time and effort to right the disastrous course my country has been set upon with millions of other patriots. Not for politics. Not for a party. But for our beloved Constitution that is more and more rapidly being ignored, distorted, destroyed and dismissed. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The glue that holds us together. We are now a nation divided. And my side of the divide is greatly outnumbered. The majority won last night. And I include all of the people who chose not to vote in the majority as well since not voting is voting. Inaction is it's own action and carries it's own set of consequences. And elections, as this country is about to painfully discover, will have devastating consequences. The choice has been made. It defied all logic that I thought I understood about my country. Apathy, ignorance, indifference and self entitlement has now replaced our founding principles of federalism, principled governance and personal responsibility. At long last the American people will get the government it truly deserves. After all the lies, deception, race baiting, demagoguery, class warfare, fiscal insanity, monetary abuse, a nuclear Iran, the abandoning of Israel, the abandonment of our immigration enforcement, Benghazi, terrorism coverups, gun running coverups, foreign relation disasters, corruption, cronyism, obstruction, contempt of Congress, abuses of power, all out attacks on people of faith, direct collaboration with Communists, Marxists and radical Islamists, chronic unemployment, crippling regulation, high gas prices, inflation, deficits and debt so massive as to be incomprehensible by most people, the highest tax hike in history with more to come on the first of the new year, promises of vengeance and payback upon our own citizens while the fate of our Supreme Court hangs in the balance. All this while slamming the pedal down and speeding straight towards the fiscal cliff at more than 180 million dollars an hour. This was endorsed and promoted by the majority of this nation last night. Honorable men like Allen West lost.....While demagogues like Alan Grayson and the socialist Fauxcahontas are back in. Big Government....Socialism....Redistribution....Social Justice....Massive Deficit Spending. The fundamental transformation of this nation. The larger the government becomes the smaller the individual. The infringement on our individual rights is inevitable. They must infringe on your God given 9th & 10th amendment rights so that this man can grant you one of his own......Managed by him and the bureaucracy that will regulate it. This so called right is 2,500 pages long with an accompanying 48,000 pages of regulations. This new right demands that every citizen show proof of purchased insurance while the same man who is giving it to you abandons and willfully neglects any enforcement to prove that you are even a citizen. And if you do not exercise this right you will be fined for doing so. And it will cost conservatively 2.6 trillion dollars for you to have it. This right by the way is also a tax. The largest in the history of the world. This and our Constitution as it was written cannot coexist and share the same space. Our newly reelected ruler has said as much. They are antithetical to each other. Some things then must naturally come unglued. They then will set off their own series of consequences where more and more government will be required to manage it. Obama has only been president for 1.3% of this nations existence yet is responsible for 35% of it's debt and now the vote has been cast for much much more. We admittedly have been on this path since Nixon, but no nation in the history of this planet has done what were are doing right now on the scale that we are doing it. Everyone in D.C. admits this is unsustainable and cannot go on forever. The question that nobody is asking is what happens when it stops? The answer: Everything comes unglued. And last night the majority of this nation voted for it. __________________ The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots. ~H. L. Mencken |

Spot on assessment of where we are as a once free nation.

The following is quoted from a review of "The Constitution in Exile", by Judge Andrew Napolitano - Lincoln destroyed the union of the founding fathers. He "replaced a voluntary association of states with a strong centralized government. The president and his party eagerly lifted the floodgates to the modern thuggish style of ruling that the U.S. government now employs" (emphasis added). This "opened the door to more unconstitutional acts by the government in the 1900s through to today." http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo138.html |

Socialism...Greedy Capitalists are buying your politicians on both sides of the aisle like there is a fire sale on them...consider all the small mom & pops that are today closed and how many big box stores thrive on so many street corners across our land...
I AM a Capitalist...I engage in Capitalism DAILY...I believe in Capitalism as the basis of what made our country the great force in the world that it is today...but the Capitalism I believe in in is PURE Capitalism that operates in a truly FREE MARKET...as opposed to the GREEDY Capitaists who buy politicians and MANIPULATE our SUPPOSEDLY Free market...Folks, Socialism doesn't stand a chance of BECOMING the threat Greedy Capitalism has already BECOME. George Soros doesn't buy politicians to promote his political ideology as many would have you believe...he buys 'em to promote his business interests, the same as the Koch Brothers and Adelson buy theirs...y'all keep fearing European Socialism if you wanna...but remember ol Oz once said it's a Red Herring to distract you from the real threat...It's a well written piece only if ya like yer grape juice chunky w/bullsh!t style... |

If I understand you correctly, you are pointing out the big box stores as examples of capatilism going astray. Yet each and every one of them started out as a small mom and pop store serving a local area, and each and every one of them grew by hard work on the part of the founders of that company into what they are today. So my question for you is this: At what point does a mom or pop capitalist become a greedy capitalist? Do we limit the size of mom and pop stores? Do we force big box stores to downsize back into mom and pop stores? The fact is that each and every one of those stores became big by one simple rule. They offered a product at a better value than other stores did, so they grew and the other stores failed. That's capitalism. So what part of it is bad, and when do they reach that part? |

So it ain't what size...it's what intent...to cheat...or not...to think cheating is being "smart"...some justify it in their minds by saying, Everybody does it so why shouldn't I be smart?...Destroyer, if we've gotten to the point in this country that a large company has to own a stable of politicians to be successful, then we're in deeper ka-ka than even I thought...and I'm pretty cynical about it... |

Add to that: The 14th amendment. Creation of the federal reserve in 1912/1913, additionally the IRS. Creation of Socialist INSecurity and gold confiscation by that bastard roosevelt (How many times was he elected?...... HMMMMMMM). Removal of the gold standard by nixon. The situation we find ourselves in is much bigger and deeper and has been going on for much longer than what 99% of the people think. People should research on their own instead of relying on corporate owned media to tell them whats going on. THEY ALL LIE! |

You expect people to actually do research on their own? That would take time away from cruising the web or watching American Idol. Why bother? The newsies are all fair and balanced professionals. I mean, crap, I saw it on the TV, so it must be true. |
yo-daday, this will get you started, its boring, but its very informative http://books.google.com/books/about/...d=_vM2r5CXP3kC you'll get tired of hearing about Charleston. It explains a lot about the origins of the Democratic party and their efforts to reintroduce the caste system of government to this country.
Thomas Sowell fills in a lot of gaps that Wikipedia and other on line reference leaves. Search u-tube for Thomas Sowell, beyond that you'll have to get books to get facts, there's a lot that's been edited for the internet that they don't want to remind anyone about. I did a search for the Democratic party time line of events the other day, funny thing, they left that whole slavery/civil war off their time line, While your searching Thomas Sowell, this is a pretty good video to watch as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwqho...eature=related and yes, I'm wearing my tinfoil hat |

T. Sowell is brilliant.
I think that there are greedy capitalist's, there are greedy politicians. But I also believe it is highly pessimistic to subscribe that generalization to millions of companies and thousands of politicians. I also believe that sex and money have made the world go around since Adam first munched the carpet and the apple. But to take a company from a idea to a major corporation is exactly what capitalism is all about. And the men and women who did those things also built our railroads, cities, communications, medical facilities, international trade, automobiles, computers, telephones. You get the drift. They also brought art, science, museums, culture where there was none before. So, yea. They DID build that and they deserve to reap the rewards and they should be able to influence legislation that will prevent others from taking what they built etc. It is life. It is the human condition. While I agree that certain reigns need to be put on them by "We the People" through our elected representatives so that there is a fair competition in the market place I believe it is very idealistic, or utopian to believe we are going to eliminate it. What you have in a Statist, Socialist, Communist or Progressive systems is a hierarchy of government rulers deciding the winners and losers, not the customers. The ruling class elite who add ZERO value to society as a whole pick those winners and losers to increase their power, wealth and ego. All the while maintaining the masses to do their bidding by doling out the table scraps to them. Meanwhile no one rises, no one succeeds and society as a whole moves through life as sheep. Creativity dies. Exceptional ism does not exist. This is the life that these societies all through history experienced. And when the population expressed some resistance they were killed, sometimes in the millions. No, I think I will do much better in a capitalist society, even with its greedy head and dirty politician sometimes rearing up. And I do not expect perfection in life, but I do expect an opportunity. And when all is said and done, every single swinging richard in this country has that in spades. To say they don't is an outright lie. So now, we have in our nation a population that votes itself more free sh!t from those people, called the "rich" by the current keepers of the socialist/progressive agenda who are in power, and social justice when under threat of force they confiscate the earnings of others to render to those they deem their power base a cradle to grave existence. Notice I said existence, because if you are kept by keeper and dependent on him for your very existence you are not living, you are not thriving. You are a slave. And here is where we stand. About half this country is working and paying the freight for the other half. And many have fallen for the propaganda that it is the greedy rich, the evil corporations and the capitalists that have done this to us. Or some version of that scheme. Some would have you believe we can only take action by throwing them all out, or that we can only fix things by eliminating money and sex from those that hold office. We can fix it by eliminating greed, or some other generalized claim such as all liberals are scum, or anyone who believes we should return to a Constitutional Republic are right wing zealots. No we can fix it by being honest, humans have flaws, we all have some. We fix it by getting government out of the business of running American Citizens lives. Getting the government out of the business of picking winners and losers in our economy. We let capitalism happen. And we stop looking for utopia, we will not find it until we meet our maker. We keep high ideals, but save the generalizations that serve no purpose except for those who wish to spend their lives in the Rectory or the Academia hypothesizing. And we do not elect those who would offer benefits for nothing and chicks for free as long as you can close a blind eye to what the man behind the curtain is doing and are willing to give up our greatest gift. We shouldn't be in Afghanistan. The majority of the 9-11 terrorists were Saudi nationals, so we retaliated against Afghanistan. Go figure. |
that book is a hard read, but about two thirds of the way thru, it will hit you, " so that's what they are trying to do"

Afghanistan is where our enemies retreated to so they could have quick access to the Pakistani border...which is where we got Bin Laden...he didn't hide in Saudi Arabia...that said, after 10+ years there, it's time to get out and stop the madness of staying there in order to feed our tax dollars through Haliburton and the rest of the Military Industrial Complex so their shareholders can prosper... And BTW...the Trillion dollar figure mentioned earlier in welfare is an exaggerated number...what ever it is, I agree w/you it's too much and needs to be trimmed back...and most of all, having babies to provide a check has got to be stopped..that policy is pure madness...and it's obvious that neither party has the cajones to stop it... |

$282.7 billion spent by states on Federal welfare programs, and you get 1.03 trillion. Numbers for 2012 will be much higher. True that no one has the stones to stop it. Socialism is evil, and will be the undoing of this once great nation. |
1.2 Trillon dollar number is accurate.
No disputing that big Corporations try to buy the vote. Problem is the left want it all Reel. True blue bloods at the DNC - Gotta laugh at these Obama supporters they were so punked. Sad thing is they believe in what they said. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07fTsF5BiSM |
