Freeman PILOT
Hey guys...here's a Freeman for NJ, NY and MA!!...33' Catamaran w/a PILOT CABIN...
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...lotCloseup.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...eemanPilot.jpg Beautiful!!...he's been powering the CCs w/twin 350 Yams or Verados and getting top end at 60...cabin shouldn't slow it down much...fishin' machines w/a ride like a GLIDE...Billy said this one IS headed North...y'all keep an eye out up there. Here's a couple of CCs to compare... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90.../2Freemans.jpg All these are Seafoam Green only by coincidence...he'll make your new one any color you want it... I stopped by Billy's shop a few weeks back when I was down doin' the movie...he's had to DOUBLE the size of his shop to keep up w/orders...I almost didn't recognize it...plus he's added a 37' STEPPED hull...for a little extra top speed...all I can say is BUCKLE IN... |
so how many times do i hear about you coming thru with out calling, stoppin by, or at least buying me several beers??????????

Ok. Lol. Any idea who builds them? Might be going with acrylic as we have a local builder. But worried about scratches.
|
I've got to go by there this week, I'll ask him about who build the windows
|
Thanks Spare. The cost of the windows has really got me worried on the pilothouse build.
|
look thru "Commercial Fishing", it used to be a newspaper like magazine that had anything you ever wanted for a commercial fishing operation. IF that doesn't work, measure the windshields on an older Kenworth tractor. The ones with two front windshields. They are flat safety glass windshields with rubber gaskets that hold them in place, they used to be pretty reasonable as well(<$100 each)

The boats he builds are incredible. Not to mention what people say once they ride in one.....
I should be able to afford one in the next 300 years if my savings rate stays like it is. |
Reel do the front windows open? I remember the Sportsman had lift up windshield glass. It only lifted off the frame five inches but it was like ac. Always a good breeze coming thru. I may copy that design for my front windows.

Check out this site. It gives some pdf. Files with cross sections. Look at the 1800 series fixed window and sliding Windows. I'm searching the web now to see what else I can find for you. |
Thanks Kracker. The 1800 is a nice looking window. I will give them a call tomorrow and see if they can do an over the phone quote. Even if its not exact it should be close enough to give me an idea.
Reel, definately need opening windows here. Although right now they would be closed, back wall installed, and heaters blasting! Yeah I know its 50* here but I am a native Floridian. Lol its cold! |

Emailed them, just got a reply. Talkative fellow... He talked about Sandy, trip to the Keys, etc $610 per window and $200-$350 shipping per window. I would post the email but cant do it from my phone. If someone wants to post their email or pm it, i will forward the email so they can post it.

Whats the thermal expansion rate of starboard? Is it enough to cause non opening windows in cold weather and loose rattly windows in the summer? I know of one person who would know.... MJ!!!!
