Well I've been holding out on most of you guys here, but this morning at 2:38AM my wife gave birth to our first child. She's had so many problems along the way I decided to keep it quiet until he was here, but I will admit I had told a few here about it(thank you again Vic for the care package). After a very long pre-labor, she had a RAPID labor that went by very quick, but was very intense. But at 2:38 Am she gave birth to Patrick Arlie who weighed 5 pounds 7 onces. Heres a few pics that I have so far.

Thanks everybody, heres one more pic I have of all 3 of us. And I know I look a bit rough as this was day 3 without anything but a couple of BRIEF naps. Hopefully they let us go home in the morning as all of his tests so far have been great, and only has his jaundice test left before he can be released.

RidgeRunner 09-17-2012 02:36 PM

I gotta copy and paste that pic to my wife, she just loves babies.

On the tests, I say:news: AND the baby doesn't look jaundiced to me, looks pink and handsome for a baby. LOL..

randlemanboater 09-17-2012 10:33 PM

Congrats to you both!

Stinky_Hooker 09-18-2012 06:47 AM

Disturbed 09-18-2012 08:13 AM

I haven't been on in a couple days. Congrats!! Kids are great!! Word of advice. Get caught up on sleep now before the crying starts. And when he turns 2, move onto your boat for a year, Lmao. I kid, but Congrats again to you and your family.

lathehand 09-18-2012 09:44 AM

 Congrats . It don't get any better.

THEFERMANATOR 09-18-2012 06:00 PM

We got to go home today with him, but we do have to take him back in a week so they can recheck his weight. He has been losing more weight than they would like for him have to, so he has to be monitored. And the crying has already begun. All of that holding and comforting him in the hospital has now bit us in teh but as he cries whenever he is sat down now.

macojoe 09-18-2012 08:02 PM

:nice: Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

don't spoil him!! let him cry it out, you will be happy that you did!! my kids heard noise, yelling, all kinds of stuff, and slept thur all, no quite the baby sleeping here!!

He's actually been pretty good so far as most everytime he has cried he has either had gas, needed burped, or had a dirty diaper. He does wake up about every 2-3 hours to eat though, but the pediatrician said he should be feeding that often since my wife is breastfeeding him. Just sucks as it takes him almost an hour to empty her out, then another 30 minutes to get him burped, and before you know it it is time to do it all over again.

aussie 09-18-2012 10:26 PM

  congratulations Therm you and mum must be very proud and relieved

I used to wake up that often to pee, but not to eat. I found last night though if I give him just a small bottle after he breastfeeds, he will sleep for 4 hours or so. He is slightly underweight, so he needs the extra anyways.

They always loose some weight after they are born.. It's normal. And although there is a target that doctors like to see, as long as he's healthy I wouldn't worry too much about his weight. So long as he's eating well and crapping and burping like he should he'll be fine. Don't let the crying get you down.. that's pretty much the extent of their vocabulary for right now. Pretty soon he'll learn how to laugh, and then the next thing they learn is "Hey dad, can I have the car keys?" Enjoy him as a baby now, because in an eyeblink he's going to be a father of his own.

Monkey Butler 09-19-2012 10:26 AM

Great news! Congratulations and best wishes to Patrick, Mom and yourself.

bradford 09-19-2012 08:25 PM

Good Job Ya'll!!

RidgeRunner 09-20-2012 06:23 AM

I find myself agreeing with Destroyer again. At least he is healthy and not collicky or something. All that will pass in a little while.

He was 10 days early which I know also is part of why he is so light, be he isn't really small, and he is one strong baby. He's got stuff going in one end, and flying out the other, so that part is good. And he already has a little laugh every once in awhile. And the chances of him getting the BURB keys are slim to none, the wifes car will be fair game.
