 E-Bay Sale

 Re: E-Bay Sale

MJ can buy that one for just the motor then sell the rest with his bad motor and probably make money

 Re: E-Bay Sale

What would you guys spend on this? I am going to check it out tonight.
	 |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Only one problem with this boat - 6 days left on eBay. That boat will sell for probably 5 grand or more. :-/

 Re: E-Bay Sale

I say it goes for $3000 Definitely a nice opportunity - if you want a CC.

 Re: E-Bay Sale

I am out of this one......Motor sounds like its shot. Talked to the guy briefly, "nice guy"....um...not. Very abrupt etc, didn't want to provide info. Boat can be had for under 3k. Supposedly a guy is coming tonight and offered 1,500 cash and the guy was going to end the auction.

 Re: E-Bay Sale

		Hey Parrot,
I talked with the guy around 6:30 this evening and was going to go look at it tomorrow. He said he was looking for somewhere around 2k and you're right the motor does sound like its shot. I was really looking for a '77-'80 model but I'll have a look at this one for giggles. Where are you located? I'm in Red Bank. Does the screen name mean you're a Buffett fan? If so we have quite a bit in common, v20's and JB, and if you like JB you're probably not afraid to excercise your elbows. KW |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Huge Jimmy Fan. Last boat was named Margaritaville, prior one was Banana Wind......
Something is off with this guy selling the boat though. He told me 2k last night, then today was taking 1,500 from another guy coming to pick it up at 6......I bid up to 1,600 but a guy with negative feedback is following every bid that I make.....all smells fishy. Hammer has my last bad ebay experience.....I'll pass. I am down in Brick.....moved from Manasquan to Belmar to Brick.....cheapest near the water, Red Bank would have broken my bank for what the wife wanted. |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

		Parrot,
I hear you, actually we moved from Red Bank proper across the bridge to Middletown(still R.B. address though) and lowered our taxes and tripled our property. We're in the Shadow Lake(not the retirement comm.) area. We love it here. I've got a sister in law in Brick, Herbertsville section and my dad keeps his boat at Arnolds on Beaver Dam, its nice down there. Maybe we'll see you at the J.B. show in Sept. I'll let you know how I make out with the v20. KW |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Parrot, glad to hear that you are still intetrested in
V-20's. Your old V-20 is really going good. Again, it wasnt turn key as you and I expected, but the family loves it. But it might be on E-bay shortly as well. |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Oh ok, I'm guilty - didn't read the add tell that motor has problems.

 Re: E-Bay Sale

No Jimmy show for me this year.... :'( Wife is due in a week with our second child...highly doubt she'd be ready to go!
Hammer.....I know you put a lot of work into her. Two guys made a lot of money on that deal while two were left holding the bag (ala you and me). Glad she is treating you well. Let me know before you list her on ebay....I might stop looking for now and just wait a few months till things settle down at work, home and on the boating front. |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

		Hammer selling? ???
	 |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Yeah, what gives Hammer? Are you really thinking about selling? Why? Here's a little bit of the preacher coming out in me.
I think most of us have thought about selling our current V20s with the thought that there are better deals to be had on other V20s. For some, that may very well be the case, but not for all. Each of our boats may have its problems, but at least we know what they are... It's sort of like marriage. You get married and then at times you may think that you would be better off with another person. But the thing is, you know your wife and she knows you. Yeah, life is hard sometimes, but that's the way life is. It doesn't get any easier just because you find another good looking hull with less spider cracks ;) or a newer and faster engine ;D There are a lot of unknowns about those other ones and there's always a reason the previous person is selling or divorcing or a reason why the person is single. When times get hard, you try to work through them and when you do, you grow that much stronger and you appreciate what you have all the more. Nothing can replace the memories that the two of you share throughout the years. There may be a time when she gives up the ghost, so to speak. And when that happens, then you're free to marry another ;) But the thing is, that new marriage will also come with unique problems all of its own that you'll have to work through... Anyway, all that to say, don't be too quick to give up on what you've got. I'm trying to practice what I'm preaching right now. There have been a number of times that I thought about selling my V20 in order to buy another one. But I've decided I'm going to try and stick it out for the long haul and see what happens. That doesn't mean I won't come to a point when I will choose to sell. It just means I'll give it my all before getting to that point. Steve |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Hey guys, I love my V-20 and as much as it sucked doing the work on her, I learned alot about boats. I truly dont want to sell her, but the wife wants to start a family and we need a bigger house, so I am thinking of ways of getting some quick cash in hand. That or work alot of overtime for extra cash. Hell, I'm off to court now .
:-/ so hopefully, I can manage without selling the boat, but time will tell. |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Well, as Rosanne Rosanna Danna would say:
Never mind... :-[ I thought you were looking to get into another V20. My bad; I shouldn't have assumed. I hope you're able to make it through without selling, but I totally understand that family must come before hobbies. Steve |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Hammer, even if you do sell (please don't) I hope you will continue to hang around and keep us company.
	Good luck buddy. Blue |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Just back from court. 3 hours of overtime. ;D
WOW, told teh wife about my post and selling the boat for quick cash, she then looked at me and said, I dont want you to sell the boat. ??? ??? ???, I never met a women yet who would say something like that. She loves the boat. ;D ;D Well, hopefully it wont go during the off season. I love my V and all you guys :-* :-* :-* |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

		 ;D ;D ;D ;D
	I just got that warm fuzzy feeling . . . |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Hammer work the OT brother, been there and done that for years, keep the boat and enjoy the time with your fine lady. You won't get that time back. It's cheap pleasure if you think about it. And in your case it works out as shining times for both you and her. Thats rare, bang a few more DUI's or whatever floats your OT down there and work it thru.
Try as best you can to never go backwards in life, it's hard to catch up, I know. And where is Jimmy Buffet playing here in NJ, did not see any ads for it. Would love to see the man, big fan since 1974 but never seen him live :-/ |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

		Hey Willy,
J.B. is playing the Garden Sept 13th(or 14th). He usually also plays in Camden in Aug., but it's a little like being in prison there, huge barbed wire fences all around, kind of depressing, definitely doesn't go with the whole Buffet thing. You should try to see him its quite an experience, I've seen him a bunch of times, even got to see him at Fenway two years ago, that was awesome. KW |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

k, i was working a job couple weeks ago, in a part of town where you have to have a pass to get to. i was standing in the rubble lookin over what used to be the firedog saloon, remembering all the times i had in that joint. i aint gonna lie, i was starting to water up. a guy walked up and handed me a cold bottle of water and said "you must be a local" i turned to thank the man and realized it was JB. i just happened to be wearing my margaritaville hat so he knew i was a fan. he asked if he knew me from somewhere. i showed him my wedding ring and told him to back off. he laughed. i told him i stole the hat when i was building some tablees at his margaritaville in N'awlins. he accused me of stealing a whole box and i confessed. he said he is building a new house in the keys and was interested in hiring me for the deck. said he would take me fishin on his plane.(how the hell we gonna fish from a plane?)i gave him my card, we'll see. he had a video to shoot and i had mexicans (not mine) to yell at. he said he wouldnt sign my hat till i returned the rest of the box,lol
see, i told ya'll you wouldnt believe me! |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Actually I do believe you, I've heard lots of stories like that about "Bubba". If you see him again, tell him you know an excellent carpenter in NJ that would love to work on his place. It would be great to get out of the cold this winter. I can't imagine what you all are going through down there, but I wish you all the best and know you can put it all together again. God Bless.

 Re: E-Bay Sale

Yo Willy, Yeah Man, use to bang out alot of D.U.I.'s.
Three years in a row I recieved the MADD award for the highest D.U.I. arrest in the dept., Lately the O.T. has been coming from Burglaries, stolen vehicle and drugs. I know how it is with good times and memories. As stupid as this may sound, when I had the kids out last week. I asked if they were having a good time. They all said yes. Well, I took it a step farther and told them to remember days like this, so when you have klids, you can tell them about the good times they had with dad and his boat. Its all about memories and good times. Riding that thin Blue Line Brother. ;) |

 Re: E-Bay Sale

i was born in 74, so i missed that one. i have never been to one of his concerts. always wanted to, though. the only complaint i got about the guy is that he was born here on the mississippi coast, then lived in mobile for a while, andhas a huge fan base here but, he never plays here. hasn't shown up for any of the katrina benefit concerts or nothin. we got another local band here you guys might of heard of, 3 doors down. they have played 3 free concerts here, many benefit shows here in the state, and nationwide, and have bought fire trucks and rised and donated millions. they were down here b4 the president! dems mississippi boys. i wish jimmy would be more like that. hell, he came here to film in the ruble, but the video is about a huricane thatt hit florida. hmm, i never thought about it b4, i shoulda put my foot in his asss, lol!
