Sadie;

She is a black lab, not quite full blooded I think. I got her from a family giving her away when she was about 10 months old. She is almost 11 years old now. When I got her she was bat chit crazy and would bolt when let outside..tons of energy and still has it to this day. About a week of training her when I first brought her home and she has been the best dog Ive ever had. She is so clingy and follows me everywhere..scared of guns, thunder, rain, etc... I think she may have been abused but she worships me and I dread the day she leaves us. If I ever believed in reincarnation she caused it. I think she was a 14YO girl with daddy issues in a past life.

This is Frank as in off of "Men In Black". I got him for my wife for Valentines 3 years ago. He is dumb as a rock but my daughters and wife are in love with him. He snores like a grown man when he sleeps and also snorts and grunts if he disapproves of you scolding him or if he is in trouble.

These are mostly repeat pics from the site from a few years back but always good.

This is Hershey - 5 year old mixed breed we rescued from the shelter in 2007 when she was about 2 months old. I can't tell you how much joy she has brought to our lives. I encourage anyone in need of a pet to visit your local shelter.

Last fall I returned from a short beach trip to find her with a back injury in her lot. I actually had noticed the signs that her back might be on the way out - a slight wimper or two when walking up a hill or steps in the week prior. Little did I know what would happen. When I found her she could not move her rear end. Took her in and found out she had a ruptured disc. Surgery was recommended asap for best chances. $4000, two months of crate rest, and supporting her rear end with a sling during supervised walks later, she's back to about 95% - likely will never be 100% again and is not allowed to do steps for life. She actually knows this. I'm just thankful she is very happy, does not seem to be in any pain and is able to live a normal life. I would spend the money again if I had to! Last pic, you can see where her back had to be shaved for surgery.

Here is Tango and Kalum Enjoying a nice day in the shade. Tango is an Alaskan Huskey and is 9 years old now his weight is around 200Lbs ( been on a diet from 7 months old ). There is no dog around that gives him a problem or the kids around him he is very protective of kid's and cat's. But he realy hates the moose that lives behind the house and puts the run on him every once in a while.

I put him back in the boat, he jumps back in, I'm trying to dig clams so I rigged up a makeshift life preserver. Despite his face he liked it.

reelapeelin 05-16-2012 09:00 PM

Tartuffe...I think Jack meant to go...just didn't mean to go HEAD FIRST!!...AND MOM'S REACTION!!...lol!!...:you:...LAB-O-DOODLE??

This is Coleman, 117 lbs of sweetness!! He is so big we named him after the bridge that crosses the York River.....pure bred black lab 2 years old

Jack is a super poodle/Golden Retriever mix. That head first dive of his was why I had the camera, I don't think he knows any other way. He sticks his whole head underwater looking for clams, keeps me busy buying ear drops.

Dogs have a big spot in my heart. He is ready for anything as long as I am there. Rain, heat, snow, and sleep, if I'm going that's where he wants to be. Pretty cool to have a friend like that.

Many remember Newfie....and I guess that name is permanent now because we never changed it. For the newer guys he was a rescue by 11th Hour Rescue that gets dogs in from high kill shelters. He came from Southern Ohio....Still a great dog.

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c.../newdog003.jpg

He replaced the Beagle Luke when he went. I have to admit we only had him for 4-5 years and he was a pain in the ***.

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...6/DSCF4882.jpg

Prior to these guys we had three dogs as once....These guys were some crew together. I took these three pictures one day within 30 seconds of each other....each picture perfectly captured their personalities.

Max....also a 11th hour rescure dog...definitely beaten by a male in his past....this dog would hide behind my wife if I even looked at him for at least the first 6 months we had him....over the years he forgot the past but was always a momma's boy and my wifes favorite.

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...6/DSC00329.jpg

Sam....just a big ol' happy go lucky dumb dog....

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...6/DSC00331.jpg

This was Jeffrey ....the Alpha dog of the pack by a mile....by far the smartest dog i have ever known. As he got older Sam used to try and challenge him but he never gave it up....outlasted all of them....figured he must have been around 17 when he went or maybe older.

This is Bootsie aka BooBoo my 13 year old blue tick beagle. I have had her since she was a puppy and she is really my best friend. She enjoys riding in the boat, on the atv, and in my truck. She don't care for my car too much. :you:

Buddy and Oakley.

Not related but you couldnt tell them that. Picked up Buddy(santa) from a breeder in Charleston and Oakley is a rescue.

We just lost Buddy in Nov due to Lymphoma. He was only 6yrs and was a devastating loss to us. Not a day goes by I dont think of him and how he was takin so early from us.

Oakley is now the protector of Hadley, my 5 month old little girl. No other dog may come close or even look at her w/o a growl.

Alright, thats enough, starting to get choked up.......
