Deck drains
As I was washing the V20 I noticed that my deck drain in the back of the boat is busted. Does anyone know where to get a replacement drain/fitting that will fit a 1989 v20? I'm having some trouble finding one that fits.
Thanks guys! -Jim |
I've been looking for exact replacement for my '84. Had to settle for the mushroom type that leave about a 1/4 inch puddle.:fight:

I saw those at west marine yesterday. I guess I will have to settle for that and do the same thing you did.
Thanks! |
i used a brass version of a drain similar to this one. it is a bar drain for small sinks. i had to go to a local plumbing house. i also had to cut off the threaded nipple on the bottom to get it higher than the thru hull.

Did they solve the "wet floor at rest" problem Reel? |

Floor drains in my 96' V21 are ok - my opinion should have been larger from the factory.
Boat certainly not designed to be taking repeated waves over the bow, or worse - stern and then shed the water quickly through the drains. |

I removed my dinky little floor drains and put in the biggest thru-hulls I could find at 2-1/4". You can dump a couple 5g buckets in there now and it takes less than 5secs to drain out. I got tired of it getting swampy back there......
I used a Dremel with the sanding drum and that thing cuts through fiberglass like a hot knife through butter. If you decide to use the Dremel, wear a respirator. Its pretty dusty and you kinda resemble Tony Montana when you're done....... |
