dream fishing trip??
where would you go?
wahoo in san salvador? tarpon in marathon? yellowfin in baja? bluefin in nova scotia? halibut in alaska? stripers in the surf at montauk? what's it gonna be? |
Yellow fin in Baja or halibut in Alaska would be my 2 choices
|
I would like to go fishing for Black Marlin in Costa Rica and even get a couple of Rooster fish while I'm there.
|
Lowest odds of me actually doing it first
Rooster fish in El Savaldor or Panama on light tackle Salmon out of Kenai, Alaska Drive thru a trout creek and squish a rainbow under my tire in Telico, NC in my buggy Blue fin Tuna out of Hatteras Florida strain large mouth in lakes around Orlando Fall sail fish out of here A fresh water striper that's worth keeping with Reel on an upstate SC lake(rare event from what i hear) A salt water striper out of Rudy inlet with Lee and/or kracker/draglink/cvensor or any one else on here in Va. Actually catching some thing of note out of my 14 Mckee  |
back to the choctawhatchee river with my mom & dad one more time
|
Tarpon in Marathon...check
Bluefin Tuna out of Hatteras...check Billfish in Costa Rica....check Sailfish off the NC Coast....check Now if I could only catch a damn slot sized red drum I could die happy, that and a few Central American Rooster fish would be a bonus. |
Blue Marlin off the west coast of Africa
Costa Rica Sails Louisiana Redfish Big Stripers up there w/some of you F__kers that knows how to get 'em |
I'm one of those F__ckers who knows, get your Old Coot arse up here, soon.
S far as my desires it would be the Roosters, then Yellow Fin on the west coast. Would like to spend a month down by Seacrets fishing the Gulf with FishBones, and a month chasing Reds with my best friend Van Bailey in Louisiana. A few weeks fishing the big drop off in Puerto Rico. And a few weeks chasing all those Bahamas fish with a fly rod. I would also like to spend a couple of weeks chasing big brown trout on the fly in England and Scotland. |
Anywhere one more time with my Father.
|

dont know if you southern boys know this but baby bluefish are called 'snappers'. another fact you may not know is many days, bluefish can be quite the nuisance.
toward the end of summer those little snapper are between 3/4 pound and 1 1/2 pounds. they'll eat dam near anything you throw at them. we got a spot where they hang for hours at a time. they hide from the bigger blues and stripers that are getting fat for the trip south. we throw tins at them on 4 pound spinning gear and believe me they tear yards off them little reels. you can hook up with a fish on dam near every cast and you'll get tired way before they will. aint much to compare with them for light tackle. we flatten the barbs down on trebles cause they take the whole dam thing in their mouth. many's the day when snappers or blues have saved the day and provided hours of fun. we even throw them 4 pounders at the bigger boys and go on and fight a 10 pound bruiser on a 4 foot spinner. not my dream trip and certainly way behind another chance to fish with my dad but some of the best sport you can come by in the northeast. |
#1-Dundas and Zayas Island for Giant Salmon and Halibut (going there July-4th)
#2-Rooster/Dolphin combo on light gear some warm sand:sun: lots of cold beer:beer: good company :happy:and a view to live for has my vote. I know how big the grin gets when you hook into a 50Lb Tyee and the pull of a Halibut you could never boat or the beer would be #1 hands down |

My dream fishing trip would have to be off the coast of the French or Italian Rivieras. Any fish will do...not particular. But there's nothing like the Mediterranean Sea for shear beauty...and the view of the beach is nothing short of spectacular! (Did I mention that most beaches are topless?) |

Hatteras, NC on my own boat chasing wahoo, dolphin and tuna with friends. I'd like to get good and tired of that and do some bottom drops for grouper. That is all I ask, nothing more.
Oh and sight cast a couple of 80lb cobia on the way back in. Yeah, that's a dream trip for me fo sho. |

I would love to re-live one of the days we got dozens of cod. I would also make sure my Mom didn't give them all away :) Realistically, I would just be happy catching a few big stripers. rkc |
I'd be in the keys... anywhere between Tavernier and Islamorada... on the V. Troll the humps for tuna and dolphin early, then have a few bottom drops on the way back in and spear a few grouper and snapper.

ditto on the KEYS. Had great times in Summerland, Stock Island, Key West. Shallow, on the reefs and deep.
Mahi, blackfin, grouper, yellowtails, mangroves, jumpin' tarpon from a dock. Deep dropped there in 600 ft once & caught Tiles, roseys and , believe it or not a couple red hake! Thought they were a northern fish.. Had great trips with my brother in Pompano Beach on his 29 Aquasport. SWORDFISHIN is GREAT off Ft Lauderdale. Headed there Tuesday for one last trip. Selling the boat. |
