Need an Outboard
 

After 22 years on the V20 my Merc 150 V6 has pretty much crapped to bed. *I'm looking for a 150 to 225 lightly used or rebuilt motor. *I'm not really worried about brand as I'll install new cables, instruments and controller. *Two or four stroke is fine. I'll only take a 150 hp 4 stroke as I don't want too much weight hanging on the transom. *It would be great if it was in Florida or south Georgia but will consider all. *Thanks in advance for your help.

Four gallons Saturday, 7 gallons Sunday and 5 gallons Monday. They're there, but the season was not that good this year.

You have a 20" transom, correct?

We had an average year, started a little slow and got a little better toward the end. We have to go to St Joe to find them lotta fun for the kids and good eating. I'll keep and eye out for a motor.

Local marina here in Marathon has a few more 25inch 140 Suzukis for $8,000, but he wants to mount them. (Sounds funny don't it)

They want to mount them for warranty issues. Suzuki now has a 6 year non declining warranty. I did however buy a lighly used 2001 Mercury 150 Saltwater series motor. I would only install new if I was going to keep the boat forever.

Yamaha is the same way, they mount or no warr.

I hate that they do that, it bad anough that you have to dish out $8000 but then they want $500 to a $1000 to refit the boat!! >:(

Call suzi and ask them if it is a required thing for warr? it might be he just wants to make the money??

Same way with Honda. They're offering a 5 yr warranty, but an authorized dealer must install and rig.

Yeah, when I's negotiatin' mine among 3 Honda dealers, all 3 prices included install AND SS prop... ;D ...
