Used Trailer

ive been neg. with the lady that owns this trailer. it needs a couple of tires they are small ones look like pontoon trailer tires. She wants $1,000 but will take less, the q is how much less. Need it for a v20 think it would work. Z

It could be made to work I think, but the price is too high and then there's what it's gonna cost to get her road ready. I'd pass as there will be better deals coming. Just got to keep an eye on the papers.

Air you probably could make it work. Needs longer bunks and whats the axle capacity. I'd keep looking for a tandem. Billy Mac ;D

That trailer will work very well for a V-20...they're deep-V buit not THAT deep-v!!!

My F233 Formula was a deep V...24 degrees deep v...

This trailer is plenty fine.

BTW my F233 was also on a bunk. Can make a bunk work well by simple adjustments ;)

$500? Good deal.

Trailer looks in good shape?

$500 not bad, add new tires and get rid of the hoop up front.

Don't forget the berrins!! don't just grease them, remove hubs, clean with degreaser and inspect and repack reinstall so you know what you have!!

Take to the water and try to put V20 on it, you will see what you have to do right away, if anything at all?

Lots of guys here use bunks for V20's!! I perffer a roller and thats what I bought, but thats me!

Good Luck!!

Re: Used Trailer

Zebra, I think you got a good deal. *that looks like an original "Float On" Brand. *You replaced your eye on the bow with a snap hook device and power loaded until you hit the rail. *A lot of those trailers didn't have a winch. *They were real popular in fl in the 80s & 90s. You had to have a good ramp with plenty of water to float them on & off. *I had a trailer with *those lo profile tires and loved it. *Kept the load lower and made side loading the boat easier. *The tire pressure is pretty critical, need around 60 psi, anything much less and they blow out at highway speeds. *It looks like a torsion axle and that is the only way ,also looks like the tongue has been altered for a 1 7/8 coupler. *

formula 233,uhmmm. that was my first boat, 1973 233 formula, it was designed by a gentlemen i knew, the late Don Aronow, he designed original Donzi, Formula,Cigaret and some Bertrams.

Zebra, if you buy that trailer ($500 for aluminum is pretty good) replace the bearings, if you use the boat in salt water buy Timken bearings , but go to a Bearing house and ask for the set (do not buy them separatedly cone and cup), ask for the set with the letter "a" after the number, they come with special rust protection, more expensive but last a lot longer.
if you can't find them e-mail my with the part number to: [email protected]
