What do ya'll think about this?
HELP! *Trying to decide if this is a good deal. *Its a 14ft flat bottom jonboat with trailer. *The trailer tongue appears too short in this pic. *Question is, #1 could it be modified by adding a couple of feet to the tongue? *And secondly, is the package worth $400 (electric trolling motor not included.) *I want it for duck hunting on the lake. *I can pop my little 9.9hp on it and go. *Maybe even rig it out for flounder gigging. *That would be fun *8) *The guy wouldn't sell it for $400 back in june, but now he says he will. *What do ya'll think? *Deal or no deal? *I've asked him if the trailer was titled and waiting for response.

Re: What do ya'll think about this?
my question is how far do you have to drag that Frankenstein trailer? as long as it is a couple of miles, and the boat floats, I would say it is a good deal. ;)
that boat new costs around $500 bucks w/o the trailer. ;D |
Re: What do ya'll think about this?
Good question, I asked him that too. Can't remember how far it is but for me to consider back in June it can't be more than 50 miles one way...
BTW, where can I get a new 14' jb for $500? I haven't found anything any cheaper than this in this size range with a trailer. This old frankenstein trailer might work for the 10 minute drive to the ramp, or without a trailer I could store it on my floating dock down at the lake as long as I am able to pull it up on it. Thanks for the input. Blue |
Re: What do ya'll think about this?
I bought a tounge for my old trailer, it was about $40 but that was a long and big tounge!!
You could have someone welp a round fence post in there for real cheap!!!! and thats all you need there is no weight there!! As for $400?? I have a buddy here that has 2, 14' sears game fishers and he is selling them alone for like $200, and he is asking for $400 with a trailer. No motor at all. So if the boat is in good codition I say its worth $400. But all then John boats are made of from what I see look like siding from my house! Anit much to them. |
Re: What do ya'll think about this?
I don't know about that one BR. I know those little boats can be hard to come by but I think $400 may be a little steep for that package. Thats a $50 trailer with a $200 boat on it.

Re: What do ya'll think about this?
yeah i wouldn't give over $275 for it all.

Re: What do ya'll think about this?
Thanks fellas, I might make a low offer and see what happens. He started out asking $600 for boat, trailer and trolling motor back in June.

Re: What do ya'll think about this?
That's not bad there MJ, but I am limiting my search to a flat bottom. I think if I were willing to take a v hull I could probably have an easier go at it. Then again if I wanted a v hull the flat bottoms would be cheaper ::) Go figure. :-/
