Destroyer has a new toy

Been looking and looking at this for a long time. Hedge even sent me a link to it (Thanks Hedge).. Anyway it was listed in Craigslist for a reduced price of $999, so I made him an offer of $1650 for boat and trailer and he accepted. Refundable deposit has been sent to him via Paypal, and I'll look at it and probably take it with me on Saturday. I have a 1991 200 Merc that I'm going to drop onto it..should make it a nice runner.

Well done Destroyer, good luck

Nice score, to bad I didn't see it. I've got a 25" 225 EVINRUDE that's sitting outside only needing 1 hole bored and decarboned along with wiring harness and cables off of a V-20. And I've got lOTS of wood epoxy that would bring teh floors back. Good luck with her.

Wow. Nice boat for sure. Love the "W" logo in red white and blue, with checkered flags. Nice find. Better than the last deal IMO, good things come to those who wait.:beer:

Sorry RW I was already looking at it on CL by that time. He had it listed in the Delaware State listing in CL as well as on eBay, but when I'm on the prowl I start at Maine and go state by state down to Fla., so I had already found it.. That's how I knew it had been reduced to $999. Besides.. Hedge likes me better.:you:

It's offically mine now... So now the fun? begins getting it ready through the winter for the spring fishing runs. Floor is really soft so it needs to be cut out, rotted wood removed, new wood installed w/glass overcap and then glassed into place. Thank god I have a place to do it inside so I cn work on it over the winter. Now all I need is a radar arch and I'll be set.

Bow appears in good shape. From what the seller told me the po had it shrinkwrapped every year but never drained the floor or left vents in the wrap, so it was constantly wet underneeth the floor over the winters....hence the rot. While the floor is off I'm also going to join the rearmost stringers (one on each side) to the stern engine bracket. There's a gap of about one half inch between the two, so I'm going to fill the gap and then put on 2 layers of mat. That way the stern will have extra strength to handle the 200's hp. Hell, it should be able to handle a 275 without a whimper.

As far as pictures go it will be a while before I can start on it. Very busy at work right now, and then we have the holiday season starting, so I'm hoping to get to work on it in earnest in Jan.

Quick question to all... After the floor is re-assembled there's going to be a cut line around the floor. Conventional wisdom would be to v the cut line, then fill it with resin...but I want it to disappear entirely. Anyone ever use Herculiner or Bondo or AL's Liner on the floor of their boat? (I'd like to use Rhino liner but I think it's just gonna be too expensive.) My point is I can get a good non slip surface that way, as well as sealing the crack and making it disappear. And it comes in white as well as black and other colors.. so it should fit right it. Any comments? :head:
