Does something smell rotten here?

http://nh.craigslist.org/boa/213610329.html

Can it really be $3600? I certainly doubt it.

Re: Does something smell rotten here?

you've got to classify that one under "to good to be true".....intentionally left out the 1, that should have been placed in front of the 3600, just to generate a flood of phone calls

This ought to be good. 8) I want to see how he gets out of this. He's either scamming, or the motor is stolen. :)

Re: Does something smell rotten here?

Re: Does something smell rotten here?

No need to close the transom Tin, just add a jack plate!

And if this guy is for real and you get the motor, can I have the old one??

I had to get in there before someone else did!! ;) ;D

At that price I no care if its stolen!! If its stolen its for me!! :o

Yea, but think how nice it would be to have another 5" of transom height to help keep water out!

I'm sure this is a scam, he's gonna want payment then he will ship(but I doubt he even has this motor). I'm going to string him along...maybe I can scam him for a few bucks, we'll see if he answers my last email. :)

Re: Does something smell rotten here?

Happened locally here very recently. Guy bought a brand new 25hp Yammi 4 stroke for his skiff. Within two days, the motor was stolen. Within another two days, it was posted for sale on craigslist for very short money.
Suspecting it was his motor, the owner contacted the seller to meet for a buy. Meanwhile, he contacted the local PD who went to the meeting site undercover. The arrest was made, and the owner got his motor back. It was an inside job of a young employee at the marina that told his friends about it.

Re: Does something smell rotten here?

Seller (so called) finally emails me back...miracle this motor is still available, huh ::)

Still has not given me a phone number, I asked twice. Anyway here is his reply:

Hy ,

In order for both parts to be safe(to close this transaction) we will use WorldPay.I will support the WorldPay fees. From the moment that you will decide that you want to move ahead with the transaction I will open a transaction record at WorldPay and the will get in touch with you. In order to move ahead with this transaction I will be needing your full name and the shipping address where you want the motor shipped so I can open a new transaction record at WorldPay and get them in touch with you.Oh,and by the way the shipping process will take no more than 6 business days from Hinton,AB.
They will provide you all the details on how to proceed with this transaction.
Let me know....!

Thanks!

Jonathan
