thats doing pretty good.. (if numbers are correct!) Mine does about 35 WOT with 2ppl.. But my stern is heavy due to the NidaBond transom and 32 gal bait tank that sits in the old engine well. I also have a 85gal fuel tank, tower, swim step/bracket merc 175. when We run in moderate seas, with the tabs down for comfort and cruise at 26mph with 3 ppl on.. at about 4150 rpm while between 9 - 10 gallon per hr.. |

Is that some sort of enclosure that has been added to your new boat, Fordy? |

That's cruising along ok for only 90 hp....... maybe drop down to a 70hp and see if that's better..........or maybe even a 55hp. |

speed All those number seem low, my '78 V20 cuddy with a '87 150 Suzuki will run 44 mph and cruises at 28 mph at 3500rpm.. Does that sound right? |

I have seen 40 mph with mine  |
With my V21, flat calm on the bay and very little tide movement I get about 37mph at WOT with the 150 Honda on the back. Cruise is around 26ish at 3700 according to GPS. |
Piss'n on Suzuki Hey jasoncooperpcola why are you so Anti-Suzuki? just wondering.. |
My 1992 200 Merc gets mine with curtains, 1 person, half tank (30G.) on a clam day, 2 way average via Garmin at 42 WOT and trimmed. |
I have a Johnson 150 ocean runner with a 17p prop with 5 people & gear and flat lake I top out right around 40 - 42 mph. Not sure what it would be just 2 people and light gear. |
 My V 21 goes about 140 mph WOT.........downhill...... Sorry, can't resist. |
phew i was getting nervous there for a minute my 150 merc 2 stroke pushes my step at WOT 33 mph |
I would think you shoukd be getting 45 out of a Merc 150. |
I get about 41 WOT with my 150 yammi(99, carb'd 2-stroke), and only hitting 4900/5000 rpm. You should do better than 33 with that merc. |
My V20 can cruise allday at 40 and will top out right at 50 going down river or flat conditions with two people in boat and 60 gallons of fuel. Love the Yamaha F150 4stroke. I will never own anything but a Yamaha from here on out. I am kind of laughing about the Suzukis getting slammed. That was my next favorite motor I have owned. THe only problems were the metal they used (recycled auminum pot metal) on the older ones, tended to get brittle after many years, particurlarly on the foot. I ended up buying several foots for backups, they where cheap. Never had one issue with that motor running besides spinning hubs, it had mucho tork. |
my 175 johnny will push her to 42 WOT and cruises well right around 27-28 |
I have a chance to buy a 2006 suzuki 140 with gauges and controls for 4000 dollars . I might get it. Its a great deal with 400 hours on it. |

I have had 3 engines on mine--the 175 johnson only made 42--the yammi 225 SSWII only made 50 and the Evinrude E-tec 200H.O. makes 53 with lightly loaded boat with a stand up top, arch and full fuel. All were properly prop'd and height set. Better check your GPS--or is that a speedo reading!! |
