1989 V-20 cc in New Orleans $2,500obo

Great little boat.

The good:
solid deck
nice leaning post
just rewired (even the courtesy lights work)
new updated fuse block (blade type fuses)
new bilge pump
new float switch
new bait well pumps and plumbing
hydraulic steering
new bimini
fuel/water separator
poly tank
black rub rail
really nice road ready dual axle trailer with newer tires
clean title in my name for boat and trailer

The bad:
Transom needs to be replaced
Fuel tank hatch needs to be recored
Fish box hatch will need to be recored within the next year or two.

I bought a new hull rather than go through with a repair. I am taking my motor, rigging, jackplate, trimtabs, and electronics off of the boat. I can post pictures now but would rather post them after the boat is unrigged. She would be a good candidate for restoration. It was originally a closed transom boat which was sold with an OMC Seadrive, according to the previous owner. I spent a ton of time and energy making this as nice a boat as I could. Her new owner will not be disappointed. Make an offer if you're interested:beer:

Price reduced to $1500. Between the leaning post, hydraulic steering, and trailer, that is well worth the asking price. If anyone wants the hull only, I will give it away so long as it goes to a good home. If I have this for more than 30 days after the new boat arrives, I'm stripping all the bits worth money and taking the hull to the dump.

shrek, cc= center console or cuddy cabin. i'm guessing with a leaning post, center console. would the trailer make it 300 miles? and got any pics?

is it a 25" transom?

bradford 07-20-2011 09:27 PM

If you were closer I'd adopt the hull. My wife has said that our backyard is like a retirement home for old boats and lawn mowers.

Don't cut her up just because of a bad transom.

You are correct, it's a center console. It is a 25" transom too. The trailer is in really great shape, no problem going 300 miles; the trip that broke the transom was about that long. The one under it now is a 1994 aluminum trailer with tires less than a year old. All the hubs and spindles are in great shape except for the port side rear which needs a new seal although the bearings, etc are in great shape. The hull that I am buying comes with a galvanized trailer that is also in really great shape and also has new tires. I am going to keep the better of the two trailers, probably the aluminum one, but either trailer is in really great shape.

This is the only pic that I have of the boat that I can easily post. I will take more pics next week after the motor, etc is removed from the boat.

I know it's sad, but I am not going to sit on this. She is worth more in parts than she is as she sits, but I'm just not that sentimental about boats.

I forgot to add that I replaced all of the inspection rings and plates with new ones last month too. As I said, I planned on having this boat for a long time but alas it was not to be.

Actually, that may or may not be the case. It's true that if you have a buyer, the parts are worth more than the whole... but the problem is finding a lot of buyers for the items. I've parted out several boats in my time. In fact, for a while I was doing it as a living, not as a hobby, so I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. You'll have to remove the items, clean the items, store the items, constantly advertise the items, be available to show and sell the items, etc, etc, and etc. The fact is that if you can sell the whole thing as a one off sale, you'll be much better in the long run. It's just that much less of a hassle. Think about it before you start cutting. :head:

I hear what you're saying and I know it to be true. That's why I'm only going to take the things that either I can use or will be easy to sell like the leaning post and the hydraulic steering. Besides, even if I do have to sit on things for a while, a pile of parts I can store in my shed, but if I have two boats in my driveway, my truck has to live on the street:bat:.

This is definitely a boat that is worth saving from the dump. Hopefully someone will take me up on this, either as is or stripped.

spareparts 07-22-2011 06:42 AM

if I were thru with fixing my cuddy, I'd be heading to New Orleans to pick this up. I've got to get my boat done before starting another one, the Proline I finished put me a about a year behind on my V

Shrek 07-22-2011 07:53 AM

This one is an easy fix. It only needs a transom and the fuel hatch recored.

spareparts 07-22-2011 08:24 AM

I know, thats whats got me interested, I've got a 200 sitting in the back yard that would be perfect for that boat

Shrek 07-22-2011 11:43 AM

So are you after the hull only or do you want the trailer and all the stuff that I was going to leave on it if someone bought it? As stated before, you can have the stripped hull without the trailer for free.

spareparts 07-22-2011 07:23 PM

i'd love to have it, but I'm going to have to pass, too many projects, not enough time. heck of a deal for someone

jasoncooperpcola 07-22-2011 08:36 PM

What would you take for the boat as it sits now without the trailer? Inlcuding the hydraulic steering, leaning post, center console, etc? What happened to break the transom?

Nice looking CC. A lot of work there, but when she's done I'm betting she'll be the belle of the ball... I just could never get into CC's.. too much sun, not enough shade, nowhere to sleep... but I gotta admit that for pure fishing, they are hard to beat.

This boat is going to go, whether to someone here who will love her or to the dump. The price is right folks. The seastar hydraulic steering is $900 alone. There is a new 4 bow 96x78 bimini with rigid pole support, swim step with telescoping 2 step ladder, and the boat was just rewired. The leaning post would cost $550 to replace. This is a heck of a deal for someone who's handy. Don't forget that this is a 1989 hull so it is a relative youngster.

CapnMark 08-15-2011 11:37 PM

Is this boat still available? Please e mail me I have been looking for one for a while. Thanks

Mark

Comes with a very nice aluminum dual axle trailer that is in excellent shape. The trailer is probably worth about $1200 by itself.

I'm taking a chainsaw to the boat on Saturday September 10th. If anyone here wants it, I suggest you make yourselves heard before then.

Shrek 08-29-2011 11:01 AM

Boat is gone, now I have lots of parts to sell, including the trailer, steering, bimini, etc.
