As Promised PICS of 88 V20 CC w 98 John 150
I stopped in the rain today took these pis of the boat tested the transom, floors, and hatches allare solid as a rock. boat looked great. It has a 1998 Johnson 150 w/ SS prop and Hydraulic steering T Top and the boat is a 1988 and has priced at $7250 see pics. Boat is located off Hwy 70 north of Kinston, NC. Just south of Goldsboro, NC. Has great looking tandem trailer.

quick question?
This boat is not a V20 is it. I believe that is is a 20' Fisherman correct. This is the same boat I have but mine is 23'. I have seen a V20 center console and the V20 is a different boat. The fisherman has a lot more storage room. thanks |

It's a "V20 Fisherman". Same hull as all V20's, layouts on the centers vary depending on year and model.
I have a 1990 V20 center console Sport, the 1990 Center console V20 Fisherman has a few different features, like the consoles are different. |

Tin does yours have the little knee wall kind of thing that closes in the motor splashwell, or no.
Seems some I see have that water/splash blocking wall and some don't |

Thats a neat little boat but a little rich for my blood and I personally think the V-20 is a better boat . I've seen them a lot cheaper than that with newer motors but then I am cheap....Frank

I always thought "V-20" describes the hull below the rub-rail ;) ...then there are several different versions of that...cuddy, dually and center-console...but ALL "V-20s"...along the way, Wellcraft came up w/ various names (marketing) and made changes to consoles and transoms...and the biggest change was to a self-bailin' deck w/ all that entailed...and even the 21...but the hull below the rub-rail; ALL the same "V-20" we know and LUV!! ;) 8) ...

Nah Tin I don't mean the latch in wood ones, I'm talking about the fiberglass wall that is about ten iches tall around it. What year did they go to that?

Mine isn't wood but it is just a straight piece maybe 7-8" high. I do have in mind to build a shield that is full transom height. The bottom section will have a piano hinge so the bottom swings aft in case of water entering boat over gunnels or bow has a QUICK place to exit. I'd use some kind of "L" bracket to prevent the bottom half from swinging inboard (forward) for water coming in over transom notch....Hard to explain, get it?

That's a nice boat,
I'm gonna call the guy tomorrow and see what happens Are those 98 motors any good? What king of compression should one expect from that model/age motor... Also, is it enough power for that V20...V20 RIGHT ::) ;D ;D Thanks Joe |

A 150 hp is plenty of power for that boat. I had a 150 Yammi on mine and was very happy with the performance and economy.

good luck with it that's a super nice looking boat. Let us know what he says. It's been out there about a month is all. The hull was solid even the hatches were solid as a rock. Hey Bass where you located?
