Need some help in Fla

There is a particular motherboard I want to get for both my wife and son's computers. It's made by MSI

The model is a K9N2 Diamond (Only the diamond will do, not the Platinum)
The SKU number is M452-6034
They cost $149.96 from Tiger Direct and from Comp USA
They are no longer made, but for my purpose they are "just right"

Here's the rub. The only ones I could find are in 4 Comp USA stores in Fla.
(CompUSA is a subsidary of Tiger Direct now)
The stores DO NOT have the ability to ship the motherboards and Tiger Direct does not have them in stock anymore nor will they get them again since they are no longer made. So my only option is to get someone in Fla to buy them there and send them to me.
I would like to get 2 boards. I'll settle for one.

The CompUSA stores in question are in:

Clearwater
Falls area
West Kendall
Ft. Lauderdale

The supply of them in the stores is extremely limited and is likely to be only 1 per store so time is kinda critical. If anyone here has the time and would be willing to act as a go between for me send me a PM. I'll send you the money for the board(s) and the shipping and the exact address where they are located and where to send the boards to. If you have a PayPal account I can send you the money instantly.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

And I swear to God that when I looked at that ad earlier in the day it had a much higher price tag on it. I'll call them tomorrow morning and find out what's included.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE EFFORT TO FIND THAT kAMIKAZE,...IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!:clap:

Reel, I tried that first thing. They are a quote: "new company" unquote, and are not set up to do any sales except in the store. I offered exactly what you suggested.. they said they couldn't do it, they didn't have the software in their computers but that they were working on it and expected to have it before the end of the year..

(It just goes to show you how far we've come... they are willing to lose a $400 sale just because they cannot figure out how to take a credit card number over the phone and how to put two small boxes into a large box and then call FedEx) What the hell ever happened to customer service????

Thank you Joe.. I'll call them, confirm actual stock and then PM you so we can work out details.
Maybe I can pay them over the phone and you can just pick up the items...
I'll get back to you shortly.

Joe, I confirmed that there is 1 unit physically at that store. They have put it aside in the managers office awaiting pickup. If you can pick it up that would be great. Look in your PM for more info. Again, thank you!!!!

Specially a computer company...ironic...like I went in a BBQ place several years back...liked their BBQ sandwich so much, told 'em I wanted to take home a pound...shocked waitress says , Let me check...goes back into kitchen, talks to OWNER and comes back to tell me they are not "set up" to sell by the pound...:head:

joe7670 05-16-2011 12:08 PM

More like they are not set up to use their brains.

I spoke to the manager of one of the stores Joe.. he told me that it would be a simple thing to do, but that the order to not do it came down from corporate and that he would risk losing his job if he did it. So I'm thinking that someone in their corporate office has reached their Peter Principal spot in life.

(And for those of you that don't know what the Peter Principal is, basically it's a statement that says that people will continue to rise in their given profession until they become incompetent in their job. In other words, if you are competent in your job you will get promoted up the next rung of the corporate ladder.. and you will continue to do so for as long as you are competent and can do your job. But eventually you'll hit a spot where you cannot do the job...it's bigger than you can do. That means that you are now incompetent. That's your Peter Principal position).

Like I said at the beginning, it sounds like someone at CompUSA Corporate has now hit their Peter Principal position. They are incompetent.

Call Joe...see if there would be any backlash on him for you to contact corporate...it's a published number...there is some technical issue they haven't come to grips with...they'll have to step up soooner or later...they can't just keep their heads in the sand and lose that much business...we did credit card purchases over the phone at the restaurant all the time...it's no big deal...

The way that he explained it to me was that without them being able to see the card and also some ID from the buyer, they had no way of knowing over the phone if the card was stolen or not. Makes you wonder how all those internet sales are taking place....and I thought that's why the credit card companies had insurance and backed up the merchant no matter what? :bat:
