swimgrid for 93 v-21????
does any one have a v-21 with a swimgrid on there boat? I'm looking for options were to put the fuel tank for the kicker and woul like to keep it out of the way
|
For the kicker on my '94 V21 I put the 6 gallon tank in the splashwell without interfering with the tilting of the motor. I have the swim step on one side and the kicker/bracket on the other.

i've thought about simply t-ing off my fuel line and running a line to my kicker motor and eliminating the need for the extra fuel tank.would anyone know of any problems that could bring up?
bluerunner,good loking boat! |
NICE boat
I pick mine up on Monday so stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like your setup and will probably go with it then install a set of trim tabs. Do you have a set on yours and if so how much of an improvment was it on the water. |
Thanks guys for the compliments.
I don't have tabs. It would be nice to have but I doubt I ever get em. I'm happy with the way she handles overall. I'm sure if I ever rode in one that has em I would probably want em. For now I need rods/reels worse than tabs. |

Hello All,
I know this may be a little off topic but Blue Runner, I see what looks to be a seat in the back of the top pic of you boat. Did you buy that or make it? I am getting my first V20 (super excited) next weekend and am looking for some ideas for additional seating. Thanks! |

Welcome to the site by the way....been a huge push of Jersey guys lately....we expect to see all of you, no matter how new you are in Barnegat Bay this summer for the annual get together.... http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ght=bench+seat http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ght=bench+seat http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ght=bench+seat http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ght=bench+seat |
That is a beatiful seat. Thanks for the help!

Thanks! The bench seat is a factory V20 bench seat, but not from my boat. I bought it from a member of the site who hasn't been online for quite some time. Great guy....pretty much let me name the price and also gave me a custom seat cover for it. I have no fasteners for it which is why you see the bungee cord.....many a floor has been rotted due to bench seat fasteners - therefore I abstain!!
Matter of fact, right now it is out of service b/c the wood backing is rotten and the bolts pulled through on the backrest. Planning on getting some 1/4 inch starboard to refurb it with a wood-free backing. Just not a priority right now but it will be done sooner or later and of course I will be posting about it. |
Here's a couple pics. I normally only use the bench for lake cruising but I used it offshore once and everybody enjoyed it.

Thanks for the pics, I think I will be building one soon. I agree that the less fasteners in the floor the better. What exactly is starboard? I assume it***8217;s like plywood made of plastic or something that won***8217;t rot. Is it expensive?
Thanks again (nice fish by the way!) |
Yep, you nailed it. Here is more info copy/pasted from the interweb. The stuff is actually called King Starboard and also there are some knock-off brands that may be cheaper and just as good.

Nice fish!! I'm officaly jealous that's one near the top of my fish to catch list. Looks like equaly nice weather were just putting away the snow sholels. I'm very impressed with the site and all the work everyone puts in to there boats lots of ideas and tips = lots of fishing time.
I head out tomorrow :sand: to pick up my V-21:sun: WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! |
Hey Redneck......I didn't know they had rednecks up in canada? :you:
That fishing trip in the pic was out of Cape Hatteras about 4 years ago on Memorial day weekend. We try to make it an annual trip down there at that time of year. Always fun and always fish to catch! Best of luck on your V21. We are gonna needs to see pictures of it once you have some (if you haven't already posted some). |
